Great variety along with great customer service 5/18/2008

I was a little skeptical at first, because this restaurant replaced my beloved Koon 9 sushi. However, my view was changed when we entered, as we were the only customers at around 5 ppm, and the waitress was very attentive. The menu choices were pretty extensive, and there were many maki rolls I have never seen on a menu before. Their Godzilla roll was one of the e best I've had. My favorite part was when we left, the waitress handed us two pairs of nice chopsticks as a complimentary gift. This is truly a hidden gem in the busy East Lakeview neighborhood. I highly recommend Fresh Sushi and Noodles for the intimate dining experience and great food. Pros: intimate dining, great customer service more

Great New Neighborhood Restaurant 5/15/2008

I experienced this revamped Thai restaurant in its first week of business and I really enjoyed it. The restaurant offers two different menus; one for sushi and one for noodles. Both offered a variety of different appetizers and entrees. For an appetizer I tried the eggrolls which were served with a sauce that had a deliciously sweet undertone and the shumai which was also great. Fresh also offers wasabi shumai which was my original pick but unfortunately they were sold out. The sushi was excellent. The rolls were made with fresh (as the name implies) fish and vegetables and had great flavor. The spicy tuna roll had some of the best spicy flavor I have had in a while. The Alaskan roll made with King Crab also tasted light and delicious. I also had a shrimp tempura roll and was pleasantly surprised. I usually do not like tempura because it feels heavy but this roll was lightly fried and still had great flavor without the breading overwhelming the rest of the roll The wait staff was friendly, knowledgable and attentive. The price was also very reasonable. Our meal included 2 appetizers and 4 rmaki rolls for less than $40. The restaurant is BYOB so make sure to bring along your beverage of choice. I will be going back to Fresh the next time my sushi craving sets in. I am happy to say that there is a new great sushi/noodle restaurant right down the street. Pros: Fresh and flavorful sushi, attentive and friendly wait staff, reasonably priced Cons: Ambiance/decor is standard, nothing spectacular more

NEVER COME TO THIS PLACE! PLEASE! 11/26/2007

Best Pad Thai ever 3/26/2007

Even though there are already numerous other Thai restaurants in the immediate area, I am always drawn to this one. The atmosphere is cute and comfortable (and clean) for dining in with quick and friendly service. On cold days I have been served with on-the-house hot tea, and the Pad Thai is the most FLAVORFUL I've ever had. Egg rolls are crispy and fresh, the Rice soup is light and tasty, and the assortment of Maki rolls I've tried are equally as fresh (try the Spicy Salmon). It's BYOB so come prepared and not very crowded yet since its a new place, but I am there at least once a week. Highly recommended and the prices are extremely reasonable. Pros: Its never crowded despite the amazing food, so no waiting, service is always friendly and quick, food is always fresh, hot and delicious. Cons: Parking is not abundant, and they are closed on Sunday. more
