This historic place downtown is most famous for being the place where George Washington made his farewell address to his troops. It was a notorious hangout for the social types of the early USA. There is a museum upstairs from the actual tavern, which still exists and serves excellent food on the ground level.
The museum is pretty cool...you feel like you are walking in someone's old house, creaky floors and all. There is a flag room, and copies of old newspapers and speeches from the late 1700's.
