My crew went to Fratelli's for lunch today to see what they have to offer. The decor is nice inside, with a tiled ceiling and brick archways, and wooden booths with big cushions. Fratelli's has a Tuesday and Thursday night special after 4PM which is a large pizza for $6.95. During lunches the special is $6 for soup or salad, a slice of pizza, and a half sub. It's a good deal for that much food, and it's very similar to what Rotelli's offers. Fratelli's also gives you more sub options than Rotelli. The pizza at Fratelli's is just ok, similar to Sal's quality. I had the daily special which was a flatbread with mesclun salad, avocado, and chicken with a basalmic vinegarette. It was pretty good, the flatbread was freshly prepared and still warm, but there was too much dressing. The specials all looked good, and I was also glad to see stromboli on the menu, as well as a host of other italian favorites.
What made the experience bad was that, like they do at Rotelli's, our waiter brough each item individually whenever it came out of the kitchen. So my tablemates got to much on their pizzas while I waited another 10-15 minutes for my entree. One person's sub half came another ten minutes after that.
The server (who I have had another time I came to Fratelli's) was in a bad mood, so he didn't apologize or make any effort to make anything better. He also got the pizza topping wrong. I won't go back because service is half of the experience.
