Fratelli Brick Oven Pizza

Fresh from a medical procedure at HSS, the Margarita Pizza was burnt and maybe 1/8 inch thick. I paid my 18.95 and got the H out of there. Being in NYC is not enough, sorry fellas. more

My mother and I were visiting my father in the hospital in October, 2011 and decided to go grab lunch. Since it was a Sunday, my mother wanted Italian. We wanted a place with good food and good service at a great price. We found all three in Fratelli's. We walked in and immediately felt at home. The service was impeccable. They were attentive and our water glasses were never empty. The food was so delicious that I can't find the words to due it justice. I had pasta with fresh mozzarella and mushrooms and my mother had another pasta dish. The food was delivered hot and the portions could have fed two people. We were so impressed by Fratelli's that we returned the following Sunday. more

We found Fratelli's three years ago while visiting NYC. We walked in (while it was closed) to look around and met the owners John and Mark. They asked us to come in, gave us home made biscotti's and welcomed us to their restaurant. We went back that night and have been ever since! The food is amazing from the delicious pizza (they have take out too!) to pasta and veal parmesean! Not to mention the desserts are unbeliveable. They start you off with homemade strips of bread and special red sauce dip. The service is incredible - they are a team! Gavin is the Manager and after meeting him once, we felt like we had known him forever. John and Mark are like visiting your family, because that is how you are treated......like family. You couldn't ask for better food, service or friendliness. We visit NYC every 6 months and FRATELLI'S is our place for dinner every night! Thank you all for making part of our stay in NYC so wonderful and for treating our daughter Morgan so special. She loved making the pretzel and can't wait to come back in the Spring. okay for the two times i been here. this is the spot to be. not only that the food is amazing, but the service is the thing that made me come back here. i just went there yesterday DEC 22 with my gf and i had a wonderful 12 inch pie and she had the penne vodka. can i say WOW. everything was perfect. service is great. never had to ask once for refills on drinks or to get the check it's like they read your mind. on my second visit i had recognized one of the workers from Pizza Bash in Union Square. we had a chat with him and it turns out they are both connected and he owns 3 businesses. he was very grateful we visit both Pizza Bash and Fratellis. when it came time for dessert the owner told our waiter to get us their famous white chocolate dessert (i don't remember the name i was still in awe with the food) and it was also the best thing i ever had. when it came time for our check we realized they didnt charge us for our drinks and our dessert. i was completely in shock. we tipped our waiter gratefully and next time i see the owner at Pizza Bash i would thank him for an amazing dessert and he'll recieve future patronage. -mike more

Consistently great food and service! The decor is lovely (and is best enjoyed later in the evening, when neighborhood little ones have been taken home). Food is always fresh, with great daily specials. The friendly, knowledgeable waitstaff is most helpful with recommendations and are happy to accommodate special requests. This past weekend my extended familiy and I were all in the city, and my parents mentioned we would go eat at one of their favorite spots ""Fratellis"". My first thought was, ""is it child friendly"". I have a 21 month old, and most places in Manhattan squeeze the most amount of people into a small space, which usually counts us out, we come carrying diaper bag, stroller, bag full of entertainment, and of course the baby! From the moment we arrived at the restaurant we were greeted with a welcome smile, and a well arranged spot for the family and baby too! My daughter was offered bread, and a drink before anyone else had ordered. Someone was definitly on the ball! When my daughter got a little antsy the waiter immediately came by to entertain her with a toy he just happened to have in his posession. She was thrilled. Once the food came, we were in seventh heaven. All of the dishes were exceptional, this is especially good coming from an Italian family of very picky eaters, and tough critics. I can't say enough great things. I especially thought the staff was very alert, and friendly. This is definitly a place I would revisit when in Manhattan!!! FIVE STARS! Pros: Friendly staff!!! more

We've been to several places in the city including Little Italy. They were good... this was better. The bruschetta topping served with the bread should be in a jar on a shelf in my Wegmans, period! The pizza was incredible, the bolognese was better than incredible and the desserts were ""to die for"" as my wife puts it. The wait staff was all over it... refilling water, coffee, bussing, etc. Everyone we dealt with there was phenomenal. Every trip to the city will include at least one stop at Fratelli's, maybe two! I stopped by Fratelli because of their fair pricing and wonderful atmosphere. The interior is at the same time beautiful and comfortable. I enjoyed the combination of exposed brick and chandeliers. I kept going back to Fratelli because they have both excellent service and excellent food. Fratelli not only provides a great Italian meal, but the staff and owners will make your evening enjoyable and relaxing. I was so impressed by the level of service provided by everyone from the person who sat us down to the people who delivered our food, to the server and owners. All of the staff members were attentive, courteous, friendly, and caring. They made you feel like you were the only one in the restaurant even if it was a busy night. Both the owners made sure they stopped by my table to greet me and make sure I was enjoying my meal every time I was there. Not only did they check to make sure everything was OK, they took the time to get to know me. I felt like I was eating among friends. This is a restaurant to go back to again and again! The first thing that jumped out at us was the exceptional service. Everyone working here was friendly and so genuine in providing us with a relaxing dining experience. The pizza was wonderful and the dessert we had was unique and fabulous. Yes, I have been back to have the dessert again! I have gone back to Fratelli several times while my husband it recovering. Every menu item I have had has been delicious, but the pasta dishes are my personal favorites. If you love Italian food, you must visit Fratelli. I still must say that it is also the people who work at Fratelli that will make this a memorable dining experience. I spent 30 dollars on a sea bass that was too buttery and too small. The meal was completely lost in the sauce! They also brought my meal out way after everyone elses. The bread and sauce was good, but I don't recommend this place! more
