Worst

never have I paid so much money for an alternator and belt. I've never paid more than maybe $100 hundred forty dollars for a alternator and the cost for man hours is a little expe...

Service 3/23/2013

Good service, but issue not resolved. I tried to tell the technicians my windshield fluid was leaking, it wasn't because it needed to be refilled or topped off. The container was completely empty. I explained my husband had noticed it had leaked out on the garage floor. The technician filled the container with washer fluid and now it has drained out on my garage floor again as I explained it had done before. I need this looked at again. I need the them to find the cause for the leak. more

diagnostics incomplete 3/23/2013

i took my vehicle in for a diagnosis because my check engine and ABS lights where on. But because I only mentioned problems with my suspenssion/steering I guess that was all that was diagnosed with an estimate of over $2000. Luckily I got a second opinion from another ASE certified tech and had all estimated work done for $500. And had it pointed out that a majority of work Franks was factoring in was not neccessary. I appreciate that Franks goes by the book but at these financial times they should think of customer satisfaction and not by what a book tells them to charge (i.e. 1 hour fee for a 20 minute job). more

Warranty Work 3/5/2013

My van has 2 ac units. 1 located in the rear and 1 in front in the engine area. In 2012 I had it the ac fixed. Your shop said they checked everything and they replaced the rear unit. I took the van back a few weeks ago because no cold air blowing from the ac. I was excited because it was still under warranty. I called your shop and on the phone I was told you all have my warranty and I wasn't over the mileage or the 12 months. After a phone call you all said it would be fixed and I was lead to believe the work was under warranty. During both calls your shop never said, Paul, this is nor covered under warranty, it will an extra charge, do you want to continue with the work? It's my opinion this is just a bad business practice to get money. Most people would have yelled on the phone or made a big scene at your shop over being deceptive. A lot of people told me to write you all and complain and do online reviews. I've been lied to and tricked by other businesses in my life and I just now believe live and learn. I truly believe especially with Franks Automotive you have to record all phone calls and video tape everything said at your shop. Without doing that you all can say my word against your shops word. Also, I asked for a oil change and told it was 38 dollars or around that price. I went to pick up the van and saw the price of 28 dollars. I asked why did I get quoted 39> The guy said the owner just changed the computer but no the sign. more

Took my wife's car in for a rather mysterious repair. The guys at Frank's took the time to completely disect the problem, and fix it right. They also ended up saving me over $100 off the original repair quote. I truly appreciated the honesty. Thanks Frank's! more
