Don't Risk your Pets Health! 8/30/2012

Dr. Buchal still operates the "clinic" like he did 60 years ago. Poor service for exuberant prices! \r Vaccine visits are NOT free, its built into the price.\r They are not a hospital, they are just a clinic. \r If you question why deadly dosages are being prescribed or why untrained people are giving medical advise you will that is their procedure and maybe you should take your pets elsewhere.\r Don't waste your time and money and worse, don't risk your pets health! They nearly killed our pets. Plus the same drug at other vets are MUCH cheaper and FV won't write a scrip either! \r \r Don't walk, run away from this Clinic! more

Yesterday I had to take my cat that I had for 18 years and put him to sleep. I had put it off far too long and finally had the courage to do it yesterday. The people at Fox Valley Vet were awesome. They were able to get me in on short notice and were so compassionate during my constant crying while I lost a beloved member of my family. I can't thank ALL them enough for their warmth and compassion. Saw previously reviews on cost and it was very reasonable. For a difficult day they were wonderful. more

Disappointed 1/22/2011

We've been taking out pets there for several years but I'm really concerned with what they charge. We took our dog in and were charged over $400 for the visit. They ran several tests but didn't disclose the costs until we were leaving! When I discussed this concern with the vet, she said it wasn't her responsibility to tell me how much things cost. She blamed it on the tech...She also wants us to do another procedure on our almost 14 year old dog at a cost of almost $400. They also charge a $15 fee to write a prescription if you don't want it filled there. They charge $40 for pills I can get at Wal-mart for $4... In the past we've been okay although not overly thrilled with them, but I'm really disappointed now. We'll likely switch to a different vet who is willing to disclose costs before they go ahead and order numerous tests. more

Best care for your 4-legged family member 8/9/2010

I just read the previous 'complaint' regarding Giardia shots - interesting since the Puggle puppy we had (@ 12 wks old) got Giardia from another visiting dog who stayed with us. When we took him in to Fox Valley they started our puppy on the mildest treatment possible - no mention of shots of any kind... I wonder if the previous reviewer had their vet confused with the wonderful people at Fox Valley - these are the people with the cow on the lawn out front just so you know!\r \r We just adopted a yellow lab mix ~ 2yrs old - took her in for her initial exam and our Hazel just loved them - she is a good judge of people btw... I recommend Fox Valley to everyone I talk to - they have an excellent reputation locally. more

DO NOT GIVE THEM BUSINESS!! We brought our puppy there and it wasn't until she was about 4 months old did we find out they were giving her more shots than she needed! They were giving her Giardia shots that we found out from another vet that puppies don't need that unless they are diagnosed with Giardia. Also, they were giving her multiple Lyme shots which she only needed one shot of that! Completely at awe about their business and personal ethics. Who would willingly do something like that?? We thought it was a little weird that they would schedule us to come in so often and give our puppy three shots a trip . . .should have listened to our instincts a lot sooner. more
