Perfect! 7/12/2011

This is by far the best bridal store in Wilmington! The store is just big enough to have a great selection, but small enough to receive individualized attention and excellent service! I highly recommend Kallista, she was wonderful to me! She pulled a gown that I hadn't placed on my list, and it was the gown I fell in love with! Everyone in the store was very attentive and not at all pushy. I was allowed all the time I wanted with each dress, they allowed me to try on different veils with different dresses, and worked very hard to ensure that I was happy and certain of my decision. Their dresses are very reasonably priced, I tried on gowns between $600-$1200, and the designers they carry are wonderful. They also have a variety of sizes to try on. I found the dress of my dreams here within my budget, and I left feeling elated! If you are a bride to be, go dress shopping here! more

Amazing experience! 1/11/2011

I had such a grear experience here. I was totally not planning on buying a dress the day I went in, but ended up finding an amazing dress I can't wait to wear. The three women in the store were so helpful and listened to what I wanted, but also suggested other options to fit my style/body type. I was also very pleased to see that they did not only have sample sizes in 8 and 10 like some other stores. It makes a big difference to try on a gown in your actual size. Very reasonable prices too! more

Oh my god- it was Awesome 10/2/2008

I loved every minute of being in that shop with the two ladies that helped me, and their gowns are incredible. I felt like the staff knew EVERYTHING there is to know about bridal gowns- maybe the other girl that posted, just was having a bad day!- Anyways, I went to every bridal shop in town= Camille's( horrible, old cranky women, and knew nothing about there merchandise- all the gowns looked soo cheap- it disgusted me), Bridal Boutique= not enough of a selection and a super filthy store) Davids Bridal- worst service of all the shops, cape fear wedding( one downtown), Way over priced and too many people wanting your money from the sale! Fountaine's was the ONLY place, I could look around, try on gowns and not feel pressured to buy, stay on a budget, even though their dresses looked like they would be expensive, the staff was knowledgeable, sweet, and really took into consideration of my budget and what I wanted! They also did not care on how much they were going to ""make off me"" from selling a gown. They helped me and actually cared about me. I loved it there and will go when I have the money to buy a gown. The store was super clean. I think they moved up by Weight Watchers and the Surf shop on New Centre drive; Target. Pros: All Pros Cons: No cons more

Youthful Inexperience 5/30/2008

While the new and younger owner of Fountaine's is very enthusiastic and warm, she is not a seamstress or gown designer. Sound silly? I know-let me explain. I tried on a sample gown that was too small, but I loved the look of the gown. After weeks of trying on dresses I decided this was the dress for me. Lindsey assured me that the dress was ""much easier to take in than out"" and so we should order a larger dress. Sounds logical-right? Corset dresses are almost impossible to take in. When did I find this out? When I met with the store's seamstress, who was perplexed as to why we ordered a larger size instead of the right size and then let it out a bit. My dress arrived and was not finished with the alterations until the day before the wedding. At that point it still didn't fit. I looked at least 20 pounds heavier than I actually am and because of the extent of the alterations the dress visibly gaped across my chest where it was still much too big. The alterations were in excess of $200. Sadly my wedding pictures make me look frumpy and dumpy with an ill-fitting dress that I did not have the budget or the time to replace with such short notice. Fountaine's refunded the cost of alterations and gave me a healthy discount on my veil and gifted my hair accessory. I am married to an amazing man and after I changed out of the massive mess and into a sundress for the reception, we had a great time. MORAL? Please, please go to a store where they have a seamstress or older bridal consultant on hand who definitely knows what they are talking about OR find a dress that fits when you try it on. Good luck! Pros: It is a small shop, so that the selection does not overwhelm you Cons: The owner is young and inexperienced in dress fitting and suggestions. more

Young, Fresh, Clean, and RELAXING 1/4/2008

Fountaine Bridals in Wilmington, North Carolina 28412 has a wonderful selection of everything that you need for your big day. Their gowns are so close to designer gowns but without the high price tag!! Their staff was sooo relaxing, I walked in and they sat down with me and before we started our ""wedding talk"" the 2 women just acted like they wanted to hang out with me- it was very surprising, but in a good way!! So for all my blabs this is why they get 5 stars out of 5 stars=== STAFF!!!!, GOWNS!!!!! and the whole boutique was soo up to date and moder, not to mention very clean!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT- If your in that area ( Wilmington, Nc) then go to FOUNTAINE BRIDALS, they are the best in all aspects your big day!! Pros: Clean, Modern boutique- Staff was the best ever, compared to other boutiques- prices were very budget friendly, and the experience is def what every little girl dreams of!!! Cons: Only things is to much outside light, I wanted it a tad more private and darker- I will definately forfit that for an incredible time more
