foodlife Chicago's Water Tower Place 12/10/2006

In the words of foodlife; “Call it a restaurant, call it an eatery, just don’t call it a food court!” When we go shopping in Chicago, this is the place we go to grab a quick bite before heading home, or back to the hotel. Located in Water Tower Place Shopping Mall, this is an “eatery” unlike any other. There are stations of various food types. They have names like; Comfort Food, Laser Noodles, Souplife (my favorite), Rotisserie, Eat Greens, Cooking Light, La Vida Mexico and about a dozen others. We find it very convenient because they give everyone in your group a card when you go in. You walk around and select food from any and all of the stations and they swipe the card. Everyone meets up at the checkout, hands in their cards and the cash register totals the entire groups food purchases. The food is much higher quality than the average food court, and yet much less expensive than the typical Chicago restaurant. http://www.foodlifechicago.com/ more

I go here occassionally for lunch or dinner and I think it is a good place. I usually go here when I'm not really sure what I am in the mood for because this place has so many options that I can go any which way once I get there. My favorite here is their pizza bar and their mexican food kiosk. The pizza here is good and fresh and the mexican fresh tacos are really tasty too. You don't really get much service here but the upscale cafeteria feel is a good casual atmosphere. more

Such a fun concept! 5/18/2006

Food, food, glorious food! It's all so pretty and tempting here. And it's such an interesting concept to have several different food sections (Chinese, Italian, Mexican, a dessert area, good ol' comfort food, etc) all in one place. The prices get to be quite high if you're not careful what you pick out, but the food is top quality, and the ambience is great. It's something you should definitely check out a few times to get the feel for the place. more

Everything under one roof 5/11/2006

This is a great creation by the Lettuce Entertain You group. Here, under one roof, you can find just about anything to satisfy your hunger. I'm serious when I say that. I've been here a bunch of times and each time I have had soemthing different. Pad thai, deluxe nachos, pizza, soups, that's just some of the stuff I can remember. They have tons of other options here too. You just walk around and find the counter thats serving what you crave and order! It's as simple as that. This is one of my favorite lunch stops in the city. more

Everybody can eat here 4/29/2006

When the entire family is shopping downtown, we usually stop on over here to get a meal that everybody will enjoy. The reason I say this is that this one restaurant has several different counters, with each one serving up a different type of meal. You can get mexican, italian, chinese, or even just soup and sandwiches! Everybody in your party will be pleased at this place because everybody can find something to eat. The food is actually very tasty too and pretty reasonbly priced for the location. more

Here is a reason to go to Water Tower Place. Cruise right passed the ladies in the fur coats and the PETA people up the escalator to Foodlife.(lol) There is a great variety of food and snacks to choose from. There are plenty of options if you are vegetarian and many healthy foods available as well as fattening ,not so healthy foods. You can pay at the end with their own unique version of a payment card. They give you the card when you walk in then at each food station they swipe your card for what you picked out, then at the end you can find out what your damage is. It's a fun place for everbody and you should find something you like. more
