I live out of town and always try to support local business. I ordered a bouquet online from Flowers by Flora, instead of going with a large online company. The bouquet was special, as it was my 89 year old grandmother's birthday. When I selected my product, I ordered the ""premium"" upgrade. Online said the vase would change to accommodate the size of the bouquet. I paid for my flowers, and I found it VERY odd that I didn't get an email confirmation.
When I got to my grandmother's house, I was in shock. My huge bouquet of flowers was in a dinky, little vase. Trying to not let my grandmother see my frustration, I just told her I hope she was happy with them (as I was not).
I called Flora's shop first thing on Monday. She doesn't have call waiting, and the phone kept ringing through busy. Once someone finally answered, I told them I was unhappy about the flowers. She advised she couldn't find the flower order and told me to call back tomorrow when Flora was in.
The next day, I called a few times (as someone was on the phone) and finally got ahold of Flora. I expressed my concerns with Flora. Flora got really defensive, said she made the bouquet herself, put my money's worth of flowers in it, and she would never try to screw me or my grandmother over. She said if I wanted a bigger arrangement I should have gotten the premium upgrade, which I HAD ordered. I even tried to tell her that this is possibly my grandmother's last birthday. There was no reasoning with or compassion from this woman. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. After two telephone conversations, she didn't want to see the pictures and offered me a ""free"" upgrade on my next purchase, right before she hung up on me.
Do yourself a huge favor- shop at a business that takes care of their customers and stands by their satisfaction guarantee. I have never been treated so poorly by an owner of a business.
