If you like Cuban food, you will love the Florida Cafe. Upon walking in, you will notice the spectacular decor, including bongo drum bar stools. The staff was immediately welcoming and very friendly. Then there's the food. We ordered Masas de Puerco (fried pork chunks) and Pierna de Puerco Asada (roasted shredded pork in a mojo sauce). Both were outstanding. The black beans and rice were classic and delicious. The price was very reasonable and the service was beyond compare. We are excited about going back. more

This Cuban restaurant is consistenly 6/5/2012

This Cuban restaurant is consistenly good. Their roast pork is great, their Cuban bread is authentic, and the garlic on everything can't be beat. more

good job 5/22/2012

Cuban food that sticks to your ribs at a price that doesn't stick it to you. Delicious food! more

Good stuff 5/18/2012

What more can you ask for? Their Chorizo Frito and Tamal De Maiz Cubano are my most favorite. This will make your mouth water and smile. Also, their Mojito drink is very refreshing. more

good 5/7/2012

One of my favorite spots for breakfast. I always order the Desayuno Cubano, which is delicious each and every time. more

great food 5/1/2012

Great food! I'm very picky about certain foods and the Cuban food here is made to perfection. I will most definitely be back again for dinner. more

Horriable service, stay away. 1/8/2009

I took an out of town guest recently and I was embarrased. The service was HORRIBLE. First, they refused to exchange my cuban sandwisch side order (french fries) for yucca. What's the big deal? Second, they broght my glass of water so late I had almost finished eating. Third, after putting down my credit card, nobody came by to pick it up. I had to go to the bartender and practically beg to be charged. He agreed somebody should have picked it up. Never going back. Cons: service stinks more

Worst dining experience in Las Vegas 6/4/2007

We took a guest from out of town for dinner to this restaurant. We got there at 6.30pm on a Sunday night, and ordered our food, without any special requests. Most tables were empty, and there were plenty of waiters, most of them watching a show on TV.\r \r Over an hour later we were still waiting for our food, while other guests, who had arrived long after us, had already been served their orders. We approached one of the waiters to check on our order, since our waitress completely ignored us, let alone gave us an ETA for our food.\r \r Another 15 minutes went by, with no food in sight. Well, not ours, anyway. After we asked again, the food was finally served, an hour and 15 minutes after we had ordered.\r \r Unfortunately two of our three orders were obviously wrong. The food did not even resemble the description in the menu. When we called the waitress, she said it was what we had ordered, and showed severe attitude.\r \r At this point we decided to leave. We left $24 on the table, thinking that this should cover two rounds of drinks, and left the restaurant.\r \r In the parking lot, the manager came running after us, yelling that we had not paid for our drinks. It turned out that the drinks came up to a total of $28, and what we left was $4 short. I don't feel that we should have paid for the drinks at all, after a completely ruined dinner experience. But being hunted down and cornered in a public parking lot like a criminal because of $4 was just utterly embarrassing and completely unnecessary. To avoid an even more unpleasant scene, we gave her another $10, just to get her to leave us alone.\r \r Travelers and locals beware; white people are not welcome in this restaurant. more

THE BEST CUBAN FOOD IN TOWN 3/27/2006

I JUST ATE AT THE FLORIDA CAFE. WHAT A GREAT PLACE. EXTREMELY NICE SERVERS THAT WILL HELP YOU WITH THE MENU. I WAS TREATED TO THE BEST ARROZ CON POLLO IN TOWN (RICE AND CHICKEN). MY WIFE HAD THE MARISCADAS (A BLEND OF SEAFOOD IN A DELICIOUS TOMATO SAUCE). AFTER DINNER WE HAD THE A DESERT THAT WAS CREATED BY THEM. IT WAS THE THREE MILK CAKE WITH FLAN ON TOP. WOW WAS IT DELICIOUS. NEEDLESS TO SAY THEY HAD TO USE A WHEEL BARREL TO GET ME OUT OF THAT. I DON'T THINK YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. more

Good casual spot 2/24/2006

The service was very friendly. We felt like we were a guest in someone's home. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. The place is a little out-of-the way. Rice pudding was delish. There were two large family groups celebrating- enjoyable to be in that atmosphere. more

Not worth it 6/23/2003

The real thing 12/13/2002

I was born and raised in Miami and have since moved to Portland Or. but everytime I come to Las Vegas I always stop at the Florida Cafe. This is true, old fashioned Cuban food. Boliche, Ropa Vieja, Media Noches, black beans and rice and more. Soul food, cheap, filling & tasty. Just like coming home! Pros: cheap, authentic more

So-so Cuban food 7/29/2002

Save your money and head a bit north on Las Vegas Blvd to El Rincon Criollo. The food is definitely better over there. Plus, it's cheaper! And you can't beat that with a stick! more

Feel like your in the carribean 7/27/2002

WOW! We took a party of 6 and ate like kings. The staff was attentive, the food was OUT OF THIS WORLD, and the price was decent. Don't miss out on maybe some of the best spanish cuisine in Las Vegas! Your taste buds will thank you!! more

Just Like Grandma Makes 7/20/2002

I'm half Cuban, so you can imagine my skepticism about eating at a Cuban restaurant in the middle of the desert. However, my experience at the Florida Cafe was great. Sure, the locale and decor aren't anything to write home about, but the food was great. If you're Cuban, and need a little comfort food this is the place. Pros: Great Food, They Cater Cons: Location, Decor more
