Fabulous! 12/3/2010

This restaurant is fabulous on all levels: atmosphere, service, food, wine list, every thing. Dining here is an experience you will never forget and for all the right reasons. It's expensive, but worth every dollar and more. more

Amazing Romantic experience! I felt like a Princess! 6/4/2010

My husband and I had an incredibly romantic dinner after I got my hair done (Thank you Len of LenDoesMyHair!) as it was our wedding anniversary (I'm so glad he didn't forget like last year!) Anyway, I met my husband at the restaurant after I finished my hair appointment, I looked and felt so beautiful just like a Princess! And to complete my day, My husband and I had the most romantic dinner! We had a quiet table towards the back of the restaurant, we ordered oysters on the half shell (to die for!) Our entrees were amazing! The service was truly delightful and attentive. Afterwards they brought over two glasses of complimentary champagne (I guess my husband shared with them that it was our wedding anniversary!) All I can say is I will not forget this day, everything about it was perfect! Getting pampered by my amazing stylist and my storybook romantic anniversary dinner with my husband! Does it get any better?! Hurray over to Fleur De Lys and create your own Storybook dining experience! Pros: Delicious, visually appealing food, great service! Cons: Pricey but hey I'm worth it! more

Our FAVORITE French Restaurant! 1/16/2010

Fleur De Lys is our favorite place to have French cuisine in San Francisco. The decor is beautiful - gold touches, soft, plush seating and spa-like co-ed bathrooms. The service is impeccable. A server once took my plate when I wasn't done (he asked if I was, but I thought he asked me if it was good!) and they quickly asked me if I wanted the dish again, free of charge. Marcus, the wine director, is a pleasure to chat with and is extremely helpful in choosing a wine. Boris and Gabriella are 2 waiters who usually serve us - they are both very friendly and efficient. The food is rich and delicious! We usually stick with our favorites which are the foie gras appetizers, sweetbreads with a poached egg (our personal favorite - very rich and creamy!) and filet mignon & foie gras (cooked to perfection with a beautifully seared foie gras on top). I've tried the lobster and mac & cheese before and it was good, but not one my favorite dish. I We've been here on our anniversary and the complimentary dessert was the perfect touch to a perfect dinner! If you happen to catch Chef Hubert Keller on the days he is working, he will personally come out towards the end of the night and say hello to EVERY single diner there. He is very sweet, humble and has nothing but nice things to say about everything! Most of the foods are rich and I find that most people are surprised or turned off by this. When you're splurging on a delicious dinner, such as Fleur De Lys, calories shouldn't matter! Be prepared to spend at least $200 for 2 people (excluding drinks). The food, the people, the decor...everything at Fleur De Lys is outstanding. I highly recommend Fleur De Lys! Pros: Everything! Cons: Pricey - but worth it! more

My personal favorite restaurant 9/15/2008

This was our second time at Fleur De Lys, the first time being the one in Vegas. I found that the ambiance, as well as the service, was better in San Francisco. The restaurant basically uses a dinner format that allows you to choose how many ""courses"" you want, with the option of having each course paired with wine. You can go for 3, 4 or 5 courses. Pros: Fantastic food Cons: High price more

This was our second time at Fleur De Lys, the first time being the one in Vegas. I found that the ambiance, as well as the service, was better in San Francisco. The restaurant basically uses a dinner format that allows you to choose how many "courses" you want, with the option of having each course paired with wine. You can go for 3, 4 or 5 courses. There is a menu to help you build your courses, but what I would recommend to anyone is to tell your server to ask that the chef surprises you - of course, you have to be open to eating anything on the menu, but the chef does create a personalized menu where each course builds on the previous one. Each plate is art - the taste, the pairing of the ingredients, the taste.... we were anticipating each course and it delivered each and every time. The cost is high, especially with the pairing - but it is really an experience worth having. Pros: Fantastic food Cons: High price more

We had very high expectations because it was rated top 5 french in the city.... where was the chef? we had ancey servers and not knowing who was our server out of the first 4 people to come to our table. if knife cuts and color with plate design was the three components to food the meal was great, except that you forgot FLAVOR , SALT and PEPPER. thanks to the wine, and the dessert part of the night was worth it. Pros: Great wine Cons: seasoning more
