poor customer service, NO return policy 11/14/2013

The FISH manager has turned on many customers over the years. He sports a scowl constantly and orders his employees around with a harsh tone of voice. The store has no return policy whatsoever of any kind. Once you've bought something there, it's all over but the cryin'. The fish manager (not the store manager) brings in many odd species of fish which can be found only in this metroplex store. Unfortunately, these "odd" species are TOO numerous and are WAAY too expensive for the average freshwater, tropical fish consumer. There should be list of these fish with pictures of each fish which should be available to customers and can be ordered. Each employee should let each customer know of the list so each customer could look at the list and request species if they were to want to. These employees work on commission and are uninterested in selling the moderately priced fish. Obviously, they'd make more commission on highly priced fish so that's where their interest lies. It's apparent on their faces when they're asked to dip up something from the "community" category of freshwater fishes. Smiling, better voice tone and all-around better customer service is what this store needs. more

Aquariums 7/13/2010

I was in search of a Hexagon 60 Gal tank. Called the Fish Gallery & was told they could order one if I came in & pre-paid, so I did just that. Two weeks later I called to inquire & one of the two store managers said he was checking on it & would call me back in a few minutes - he never called - tried to call him back & was told he was now at lunch, called later & was told he was off for the day. This was the on going senerio - several days of calling. Finally got him on the phone & was told it was on a truck & he should have it soon. A week goes by so called & he was on vacation, other manager gets on the phone & says he would check on it & call me right back, never called, so I called the next day & was told he's off today. The employee I was talking to this time said he checked & they are still trying to find one, so I asked then why was it on a truck coming here over a week ago? He had no idea... I finally managed to catch one of the store managers the next day (between their taking off, going on vacation and going to lunch) and had him credit back to my master card. Note of interest... during all these calls I was making over the 2 1/2 week period, I had quite a lot of time on hold... Their recording on hold says to come in & see their experts for a custom designed aquarium... You Dream It Up and We Will Make It For You... LOL Now that is funny.... more

The store to gawk in 8/16/2005

Fish Gallery trumps the other fish stores in the metroplex with their display tanks. An entire room full of the most gorgeous things ever. They also have a huge selection of livestock and plants which always looks healthy and happy. They are reasonably priced and have lots dry goods too. They also offer in-home service with the logo "all you do is feed the fish" while they do all the major work. Visit the fish gallery at least look at their display tanks. more
