The SceneThis charming watering hole is owned and operated by its two barkeeps, but it still can't escape the state's smoking ban. Downtown drinkers who used to flock here for an inside puff now must take it outside. Inside, patrons are surrounded by ocean-blue decor and all kinds of sea-themed knickknacks: tin fish affixed to the walls, dusty mermaid figurines above the bar, schools of paper sea creatures dangling from exposed pipes. It's all strangely relaxing. Mismatched tables and chairs complete the feeling of meticulously arranged chaos. The Draw Although you may end up bussing the tables yourself, Fish Bar lets you drink cheap drafts in a friendly, laid-back atmosphere. The speakers blast everything the Beatles, Beck, U2 and UB40. And fellow patrons actually engage you in conversation without trying to pick you up.
