My wife and I visited Fishbones on our recent visit to Orlando. The restaurant was highly recommended to us by our hotel staff, so we decided to give it a try. Upon our arrival, I was not impressed. We had a reservation for 9:00 PM on a Friday night. When we checked in, we were greeted very coldly by the host staff and handed a buzzer and told to wait. It took about 30-minutes before our table was finally ready. During that time, we had the pleasure of spending around $15 for two domestic beers at the bar. Once seated, our waiter greeted us and read off the specials to us. My wife decided on the King Crab legs, and I had a filet mignon. Boy, did I regret that. The crab legs were fine, but the filet may possibly have been the worst I've ever had. It was undercooked, and about half of the steak was nothing but fat and gristle. Not exactly what I would expect for a $25 meal. To top it off, the waiter did not get my order correct, so I did not even get to enjoy the side dishes that I ordered. I would have brought this to his attention and had him correct the problem, but from the time he took our order, he never returned to the table to check back on us until he dropped off the bill. Overall, our experience was not good, and I would not go back. Although the seafood selections were quite good, the meal I had was horrible, and overall I thought the entire menu, including the wine list, was overpriced. I also have never experienced such poor service in a fine dining restaurant. There is a large selection of restaurants in Orlando. I would highly suggest finding one other than Fishbones. I know I will on my next visit.
Pros: Decent seafood selection, large wine selection, good atmosphere
Cons: Poor service and overpriced
