worst customer service EVER!! 8/8/2012

If I could give them zero stars I would. Terrible customer service, no branches to visit, they make mistakes and you pay for them, unwilling to claim ownership, I could go on and on. I have a credit card I have had with them since 2006 (6 years) and they have not reported to credit bureaus for the past year on it (balances, payments, etc). I have requested TWICE that they update it and report to the agencies and each time they answered yes. 5 months later nothing has been done. Today they took out a scheduled transfer TWICE and caused me to overdraft in another account, they will not repay me for the overdraft fee. They apologized and said nothing further could be done. Too many mistakes with this credit union that I have to pay for. Unacceptable! Pass on this place and find yourself a better one!!! more

Great bank - low fees - local service 3/27/2012

What a breath of fresh air over Chase, Citi and other major banks. The fees are low and the service is local. They've given me free cashier's checks. Their rates blow away the big boys. more

Bad customer service in visa loan dept. 4/12/2011

Your branch in Beaverton, Oregon has hired some people who are either discriminatory, or just plain incompetent. I went there to ask to convert my debit card into visa for overdraft protection (which I previously had). Your service rep named Alex, dismissed me as someone not qualified, so I told him to look up at our accounts and previous approval for a half a million home loan -- a debit visa should not be a big deal. This is what your rep said "I doubt if the (first tech) loan officer even verified our paperwork that we have been approved for 550k" This is such an insult, and a loss to first tech --- I told my husband, to pull our accounts and transfer to Advantis credit union! more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE 9/29/2010

These people are an absolute nightmare to deal with. We have been asking for almost 2 years now for our statement information and apparently it has been going to the wrong address. This company has by far, the worst customer service employees. Every call we have made, they say that the information will be in the mail within the next week...and it never shows up. Be careful with this company more

Credit Union Woes 6/11/2006

We belong to First Technology Credit Union. We used to like it and have no problems. However, it is now a nightmare. When we go in person, you can expect to be there an hour due to software problems. The staff can not even do the transactions for you that you need because the computer system does not work for them. We have had charges posted that we did not make from places we have not been. We then have to fill out papers to get the charges reversed. We have had to change our credit card numbers because we do not know how the charges got to our cards. Our new cards then work for a day or two and then get inactivated mysteriously. When you call, the card then gets reactivated and they say sorry our mistake. This has happened too many times recently. When on-line to check accounts, repeated tries to get the current month does not work. It can take a half hour to check your account. I do not recommend this credit union. more

First Tech Credit Union 4/21/2006

We bank at First Tech Credit Union. This is a good credit union with two locations close to us (Bellevue and Redmond). The tellers are friendly. The Bellevue location has three teller windows and two video tellers. I always use the video tellers because there never seems to be a line for them. With the video tellers, you are looking at and talking to regular people but they are upstairs (at Bellevue) or in the back room (at Redmond). Not sure why Bellevue has a mix of both and Redmond only has the video. I imagine with bank robberies on the rise and all it is safer to have video tellers. Good credit union with friendly people. more

Perfect credit union, way better than any commerical bank 8/20/2005

If you have the chance and you qualify (http://www.firsttechcu.com/home/become_a_member/home_become_member.html) I definitely recommend 1st Tech Credit Union. This small credit union has branches in northern Oregon and the Puget Sound area of Washington--and while that may not seem like much, you can also use other credit unions that are part of their "network" for financial services like deposits and withdrawals. 1st Tech uses some interesting devices, like video tellers inside the the credit union to process transactions. They also have drive-up tellers, and ar eopen on Saturdays. My husband and I have purchased two cars using their financing as well, and I can't say enough good things about their online bill pay (Or their other online account services for that matter)--we probably write ten checks a year tops. You can also ask questions via email, and expect to receive answers back within 24 hours. I have never had a bad experience with a 1st Tech CR. Skip the commercial banks and give 1st Tech a try--you won't be sorry. more
