First Steps Learning Ctr is Outstanding 9/19/2009

Looks like Kim D. has a personal vendetta against the center and the Director because not only do I completely disagree with everything she said, but she also needs to get her facts straight. The facility is an infant center and is organized and run exactly the way an infant center should be. The infant and baby rooms are staffed with amazing and nurturing caregivers who dedicate their days to ensuring the babies are given what they need as far as feeding, sleeping, play time, and love, which are all an infant under the age of 1 needs to thrive. The tiny toddler and young toddler rooms are designed to let the children grow into the toddler/preschool age naturally with a wonderful combination of art, books, outside play, and group play. The center is designed for children up to the age of 2 and is not meant to be a "pre school" but simply prepare the children to move on to a formal pre school environment, and that it does. I know this because my daughter (3.5) and at least 6 of her clas more

First Steps is a fabulous and very professional establishment!! 8/18/2009

First Steps is a wonderful establishment. My daughter, now 3, attended there as a baby and my son, 7 months, is currently enrolled there. Everyone knows that it's hard to be away from your young babies, but I have never had to worry about a thing while leaving my children in their care. The staff is fabulous and very nurturing and the director is extremely knowledgeable and genuinely cares about all the babies, their families, and her employees. I would recommend First Steps to all of my close friends and family. more

The only place I'd consider leaving my babies! 8/18/2009

First steps is a top rate center. My son was here for 2 years and my infant daughter is about to start here. \r The staff is wonderful and incredibly knowledgeable about infants and toddlers. They are nurturing and caring and pay attention to the development needs of the child, often identifying needs before the parents. They also have incredibly low turnover in staff which is so important for toddlers! \r The director is smart and no-nonsense. She is a parent coach as well and will sometimes need to guide parents with her 35 years of experience and there are times when new moms need guidance. She has an amazing heart and loves and knows all the babies as if they were her own grandchildren. (In fact both of her grandchildren attended the center!)\r My son thrived here and in fact when he got to pre-school his development was far beyond some of his peers who had come from other centers or had been at home. I'd highly recommend this center to anyone. more

First Steps Learning Ctr 8/18/2009

My son attended FSLC for over 5 years when it was a preschool as well as an infant center and enjoyed the staff very much. We found the center to be well run, the children well taken care, and many fun activities and events were provided. In response to Kim D. doesn't the director typically set the tone for the rest of the staff? Good leadership typically reflects good employees. more

Extra-ordinary school with wonderful teachers 10/30/2005

I found this to be adequate at best. The ACTUAL teacher to student ratio is higher than tehy claim. I found very little interaction etc from the teacher. THe kids are in ok hands and are relatively safe, but I am concerned that children left here for too long a time would not get the stimulation they really need and or deserve. I would use for short term or emergency use only. more

Great Atmosphere. 6/15/2005

This daycare has very nurturing staff and a lot of fun activites. The people here are great with kids and do a lot to make sure your kids are getting what they need. more
