I took my wife's car in for an oil change. Never a drop of oil in my driveway. I declined to have them do a brake job, as they admitted it was still ""within parameters"". I walked from my house over and picked up the car, drove it back home and parked in the driveway. (Less than 1.5 miles) Came home that same night to two long streaks of oil running down the drive. WTH? I took pictures of it leaking from the drain plug. I hand tightened the filter a full half turn. It was quite loose. Put it on a level surface and checked the oil level... 1/2 quart over full! (is there a special on blown engine seals?) My wife went to work this morning and got about 2 miles before the brakes started grinding, yes the ones that were within specs and had never given us any problems suddenly developed severe rotor damage FOUR MILES from an OIL CHANGE! I'm sure it's all coincidence, right?
