Terrible service, rude and they treat you like a dollar sign not a person. Plenty of other stores in the area that actually take care of their customers. more

Too bad I even have to give this business one star. It deserves minus 10 stars at best. I have a guest visiting from out of town and happened to have one day off. After researching several gun ranges in the area, we decided the price was right here and chose Firepower Inc. If I could redo my day, I would NEVER have wasted it here. Upon arrival everything seemed okay. The staff was a little dismissive and not very helpful, but I explained that this was my first time at a gun range and they lightened up a bit. That was when after waiting over an hour for a range, we met Mark. All I have to say is, "wow." What a low life, arrogant, dismissive, miserable little creature this "man" is. After staring intently at my boyfriend he asked about his experience with the guns. My boyfriend has experience with certain guns but wanted to try a new model and maybe even purchase at a later time. I have been going to Firepower for a very long time. (even as a kid with my dad) Even back when it was a different owner and the place looked like a ranch house. Back then it was an enjoyable place to go. My father and I have bought over 10 guns each from them because they always had good prices and the employees were helpful and kind. NOW, the past 3 or 4 times I have been, ALL of the employees are rude, arrogant, NOT-helpful, and act like they are doing you a favor to even acknowledge that you are there. And heaven forbid you want to see a gun. This "guote gunsmith" kid they have working in there has a horrible attitude and acts like an idiot behind the counter. Recently there has only been ! employee that was nice but he is hardly out front. I think he is a manager, he is slim and tall with glasses. Very smart gentlman that knows his stuff. I feel like they don't give a crap about repeat customers and I don't think I will ever buy another gun there. Oh and ammo is crazy high there. They act like it's the only place we hgave to go buy the stuff. Hello, it's 2012 online ammo is the way to go.I have always told friends and family to go to Firepower to buy guns but not anymore. Those arrogant employees can go on unemployment for all I care. I wish the owner would get rid of alot of them and get some more helpful and kind people in there. Firepower has the potential to be the best gunshop in the area, but unless the employees figure out who ACTUALLY keeps them open they will get negative word of mouth from me. OK rant off. So I really wish someone else in Charlotte would open a shooting range. Im really starting to lose faith in firepower. I go in today to shoot and use my range card and purchase 2 $0.75 paper targets. All goes well and I enjoy my time until I come out to pay and go on my way.... I go to checkout and my hour range time card was going to be forfeited for only 30 min in the range. This is fine no big deal. THEN he rings up the targets and the total is $1.61. I pull out a debit card and he then tells me I cant use the card on such a small charge, which is pretty understandable. So I then check to see how much cash i have. Turns out I have $1.59 exactly. He then tells me that that just wont do... So he then tells me what i'll HAVE to do is purchase $10 more of stuff from them to be able to pay. This is just pitiful and sad that a family owned business really feels that its necessary to bend me over and piss me off over 2 cents. Yeah its my fault for not having the 2 pennies technically but SERIOUSLY..... sometimes people need to take a step back and remember whos paying their pay checks. It may be 2 pennies but I can assure you that i will take my 2 pennies somewhere else that appreciates my business from now on. And they can be SURE that i will share this with as many people as i can that plan on visiting this place. They may have their 2 cents today but I promise i will talk some people out of making any big purchases there in the future. Without customers you'd be nothing, so keep running off your good patrons and see where that gets you. I'll remember that firepower, shame on you. SHAME SHAME (finger wag) pricks. more

They were not interested in helping. They would rather work on renting the range than selling me a handgun. I guess that would be too much work!! more

Called to attend a gun safety class, phone picked up but nobody answered. Called again got recording. Called several times again and finally got someone who told me to come to the store to put a deposit on the class (why no card transaction on the phone???) Went to the shop the next day and was told the class I asked about was full!!!! Instead of making a scene, I just walked out. Wasted time and gasoline. I will probably be spending over $1,000.00 in gun & gear purchases over the next year, but not from them! Poorly laid out showroom created confusion trying to get help. Building looks like a bomb shelter and interior is a shopworn mishmash of gun cases. They may know guns, but these knuckleheads need a lesson in how to manage their business!! more

I have purchased a couple of guns from them and they have always been helpful answering questions. They are a very busy store so don't go there in a hurry. They can usually find guns that are hard to find. I would recommend them. more

I have bought a few of my firearms from them. They are knowledgable of the weapons they have but I have to say that the customer service isn't the best. I know that they stay very busy but I would think that they would get more help to be able to even things out. more

The last review really motivated me to write this review. I have nothing but great things to say about Firepower in Matthews. They have been busy lately - but I have always found their staff to be patient and thorough when evaluating different options. They have 2 indoor ranges, and have a wonderful concealed weapons course. They also allow you to transfer weapons to their store for a small fee, so if they do not have the weapon you are looking for you can buy it online and pick it up at Firepower. more

If you want to be treated with respect and dignitiy, DO NOT go here. Staff is arrogant, condescending, and seem to have anger management problems. Dr Phil would have a field day with these people. It's a nice physical location, but I wish wholeheartedly that all the staff be removed and replaced with beings more worthy of the air they breathe. I went to the store for the first time and found it to be a nice little store with a good selection of guns to look at and even rent. They have an indoor range ($8/30min;$12/hr). The staff was friendly and prices seemed reasonable. I didn't ask if they permitted rifles or shotguns to be fired on their range. If you shop around, you can probably find what you're looking for for a bit less, but this place had stuff in stock. It's definately a store worth checking out. more

Firepower is a fairly new firing range. It is kind of small, but it is very nice. They offer classes for people who need to learn how to shoot and they also have a store where you can buy guns, and all types of things that are associated with shooting. You can rent guns to use on the range if you would like to try a new one. more
