Fire Mountain is a restaurant in North Augusta that is very much like a Ryan's Steak House only better. It is buffet style and all you can eat. They also have a grill where you can get link sausage, pork chops, corn dogs, steak, grilled vegetable and things like that.
They have several counters set up in the buffet area, two with vegetables and meats, one with salads, one with fruits and one with ice cream and desserts.
I alway have to have a little chicken pot pie and some of their cooked carrots. After that it is up for grabs as to what I will get because you never know what is on the menu for the day. I don't usually get dessert when I go out to eat but I do at Fire Mountain. I will either get the bread pudding and ice cream or either peach or apple cobbler and ice cream. Just a small bowl, not much.
The food is very good and the dinning area is usually kept very clean. There are always a lot of people there no matter what time of the day you go in and the traffic flow in the dining area is pretty smooth considering how many people are there.
I went there with my friend Sharon and her mother and Sharon had to use their bathroom, she was not please with that experience at all. She said it was very unclean and no paper towels to dry your hands. I didn't see it, but I know Sharon and I'm sure her description was most accurate. I didn't feel like I needed to do a follow up check on that part of the review.
Our local paper always post the Health Dept scores given to local restaurants when it is done every year and Fire Mountain usually gets a good score. I hope they continue to or I will not go there again. If a restaurant does not score in the high 90's I will not eat there because I feel like if you are feeding the public the least you can do is keep the place clean and up to standards.
