this place is so bad i was a student here an the way they run this school is horrible! they r all idiots, they suspend students for no reason but to get more money out of you an they fire staff for no reason. dont let that fancy building fool you, the way they run this place is like a prison! there was only 2 good teachers there christy an susan they rest of the staff is whack! clients i would never pay for a service from here an students thinking of going here run the other way!!! oh yeah an they sit in the back an watch u on camera! freaks! more

If you're looking for a great school, this is it! The staff is always doing things to make it a better place for the students. It's a great facility and a lot of fun for students. There are so many fun things to do and the education really is top notch. more

Lets start off.....first, I have been in the beauty industry for over 15 years. I currently hold a cosmetology instructor/educator license, a cosmetology license and separate manicurist license. Most of the staff at Federico College of Hairstyling are on a power trip and are extremely rude to the students, customers and family members of the students. Some of the staff exercise their authority to the extremes. The students have to bow down to the staffs every command or face suspension, that they hand out like candy. The students can’t express there own thoughts, style or opinions if it does not conform to the staffs personal likings. The students are often in tears because they are the brunt of the instructors disfavor. The environment that these students are forced to be exposed to is comparable to that to a spoiled bully that lacks compassion, understanding, continuity almost everyday. The staff make up new rules regarding policies, test calculations and other matters, when it benefits them. If the staff can find any reason to write up a student the staff will. If the student is, for whatever reason written up or suspended(due to medical reasons, car accidents, the flu, expressed creativity, sick children), they then can disqualify the student, collect the entire tuition from that student, there by opening a spot for them to collect a new tuition fee from a new student without having any ramifications. Yes, they found the money making loop hole. You decide, read all the reviews, ask around, read their policy manual and then decide if that’s truly the school for you. more

I attend federico and to any one who reads this do not attend this school. Federico is short staffed so the teachers leave the class to go help other students with clients in order to make more money. For the first 2 months the teacher was rarely in the room and on saturdays the longest day of the week she was not there either we would study from our books something that i could do at home. I was in the hospital the day of the final and they suspended me. The hall ways so crowded with daytime students that it is a struggle to go clock in for class. Recently i volunteered for a make up show i was sick on that day and they suspended me for 2 days. The school will do anything they can to put you into overtime so you will have to pay more money. Going to this school is the biggest mistake i have ever made. If i left this school i would leave with barely any money this school has cost me so much. more

I will be really open about this and say everything to show how this school really is and how they screwed me over. I went to Federicos for 10 months, had 90% or higher in evry class, had a whole bunch of clients, never late, good attendance until a new teacher that has been discriminating (suzan gonzales)set me up and said i forged a number on my time card so they didnt believe that i didnt do it and unfairly terminated me. I can swear on anything i didnt do it and told them to check the cameras. And even tried to speak to the owner but he said he has to believe the teacher. This is what happened, i came to her to sign my timecard. She gave me 1 point, I told her to change it to a 2. She specifically told me she'll change it but to never come back to her again and changed the 1 to a 2 on the timecard. Next thing i know she's saying she didnt do it. It ws basically her word against mine. Of course since theyre money hungry they didnt care that i paid for everything already and decided more

Have your seen Federico Beauty Institute "School Catalog and Consumer Guide." Once you read this catalog you won't want to attend this school. It reads more like a juvenile detention center rather than a school. After reading this I would not ever pay to send my daughter to a school like this. I encourage you to look carefully into this school before you register as one of their students. more

The problem is the unfulfilled promises from staff and management. I'm attending this school now, its an average school but not a great school. it is not what you are told you are going to get by admission ppl. its disappointing and does not live to the hype. if you are going to pay that much for school i would recommend seeing another school.I extern at a salon and I see externs from another school who know way more than i do in clor and cutting. more

No offense, but I am so tired of every person who can't follow simple guidelines given writing a nasty review. How hard is it to attend beauty school?? Let me tell you from my experience - Federico's has went above and beyond to provide me with the best education money can buy. They have great teachers, beautiful facilities and a lot of programs to take part in. If you are actually there for an education - trust me you will get it! more

Don't listen to the haters, they are just the kind of people who can't even hack it in beauty school! I found the staff to be friendly and caring and I got a great education, which made it easy to find a job at a high end salon after school! They had tons of programs to help you succeed if you are the type of person to take advantage ot them. I seriously recommend this school to anyone looking. Pros: beautiful atmosphere, top knotch education, the cafe! Cons: seriously none more

Before I chose Federico's I looked at the reviews previous students had written and figured the negative ones were written by people who were not doing well in school or who had a bitter attitude. Little did I know I was wrong...I am currently at Federico's and regreting my decision to go there everyday!!!\r It honestly feels more like a womens prison than a beauty school. I went there to learn and to get qualified for the State Board Exam. But so far I have not learned one thing from the teachers. I have taught myself straight from the book. The teachers are uneducated and more worried about the dress code than teaching us something! \r The director of education thinks she is running a reform school, not a beauty school. It is clear that she does not enjoy her job and takes it out on the students. \r The staff at FBI is very two faced...It seems like "the place to be" at orientation and when they are trying to get you to sign up but as soon as they have your money you are in for a shock! more

I made the mistake of going to this place on the day before my wedding with my Maid of Honor and my Niece. We paid $90 for manis and pedis, which is by NO means, a good deal... They use old, gloppy nail polish and don't have any dryers, so we had all fudged our nails before we even left the building, not to mention that it took FOUR HOURS!!! I could not speak with a Manager or a Supervisor and got sick of waiting to place a complaint. So unless you truly enjoy wasting time and money, don't bother with students who should be working in auto parts stores instead of salons, these poor girls have obviously chosen the wrong career and school! more

This is a beauty school where students learn about massage, hair styles, manicures and more. The location is open to the public. The students practice what they learn on the customers. Because of this the cost of massages and other types of services are very low. That is the good thing about this place. The kind of service you get can really vary depending on who you get. I got a body scrub and facial once. The girl scrubed the front of me but she did not do my back. I was very disaapointed. When I went home I looked at a duplicate coupn and it stated that my back would be scrubbed. I would recommend this place just to try but don't go into the place thinking that the service is going to be excellent. The place is big with a lot of customers and students. more
