Fay Da is another good place to try out chinese pastries. Your standard fare of sweet and salty/meat pastries and buns as compared to its competitors, Tai Pan, Yi Mei and others. I prefer their pork buns and minced meat buns here than in the other bakeries but it really is a matter of preference. Other bakeries seem to make it too salty or bland. The cakes unfortunately are not that outstanding. Last fruit/cream filled layer cake I bought there was too sweet. I would stay away from their deserts be/c they are not very consistent in flavor -- sometimes, they are either too bland or too sweet. Otherwise, it's a relatively cheap and harmless bakery to try out.
