The deluxe cheeseburger here - off the CHAIN! Forget McDonald's, screw Burger King, FAVELA CUBANA IS IN THE HOUSE!! They've got the taste to put Pollo Tropical to shame [and really it's fast food, they should] and a good service to boot. But seriously, check in for the lunch special - the deluxe cheeseburger will be the best thing your tongue has ever tasted. NEW YORK RESTAURANTS FTW!! more

TWO THUMBS WAY UP! 12/11/2010

My favorite is the Lula Frita, and the Sopa De Frango. Made exceptionally well to perfection. I enjoy the surroundings and the friendly staff. Definitely a place to bring a friend, a date or even a business associate. I say take advantage of the $10 brunch! TWO THUMBS WAY UP! more

As my 5 star review denotes, ""Run, don't walk!"" to this delightful Brazilian/Cuban restaurant. The food is delicious and the drinks are done just right. Everyone who works here is friendly and will make you feel welcome and appreciated. The music adds to the fun atmosphere. I also recommend going for Sunday brunch! more

Delicious food! Fun atmosphere! 12/7/2010

I love this place. It's close to my work (at NYU), it has great lunch and brunch specials, and fun cocktails. Perfect for a group or small party. Arroz con pollo and Ropa vieja are excellent traditional dishes. The inside is adorable -- the bar stool are bongo drums. Highly recommended for any occasion. They have live music on Tuesday nights... but I haven't had the chance to check it out yet. more

Great Place for a Party 11/21/2010

My husband gave me a 40th birthday celebration at Favela Cubana, and we had a fantastic experience. The appetizers were very flavorful, and the portions were generous. The main course was delicious as well. There were about 17 of us, and not one complaint about the food, or service. The menu for the occasion had a personal birthday message, which was also a nice touch, an overall great experience. My only problem is that is is cash only, otherwise I had a lovely birthday celebration. more

Brazil's Frango Ipanema and Cuba's Arroz con Pollo are amongst the delicacies featured on the menu, and fresh tropical cocktails such as their tantalizing "Orange Basil Mojito" highlight the fully stocked bar. Seamlessly fusing the food and culture of these two distinct countries, Favela Cubana continues the experience with a friendly staff and a lively, informal atmosphere. Large murals and festive colors adorn the 1,500 square foot space, and conga drums cleverly double as bar stools for up to fifteen lucky (and thirsty) guests. Able to host up to one hundred patrons for events, Favela Cubana strives to serve as a festive oasis, event space and cultural landmark where all are free to eat, drink, dance, and bond.
