Editorial review from Citysearch 3/11/2014

""Should Have Learned 1st Time""""\r -I needed my hair braided on short notice so decided to contact salon hoping that my experience would be better than one several years ago; no such luck. I spent over $200.00 (charges -length of twists, hair, tax .......) they require for you to ""hand"" them the hair as they braid so you are not able to just back and relax. In addition, I was told I HAD to pay in cash because of it being Sunday???- only to have a customer next to me pay with credit card. The next explanation given for the ""cash only"" request was, my braider needed to pay her rent. I agreed to all of these things to point of going to the bank after service AND taking my braider home (and giving her a tip). \r I did all of these things with hopes of having a head full of Senegalese Twists that were neat, and for the most part the same size. I could not have been more wrong, words alone could not express the disappointment I felt when finally getting the chance to look at my twists. The quality throughout my entire head was just ""POOR"". I attempted to contact my braider-MARY in order to have the situation fixed, instead I was given a bunch of excuses and promises of a returned phone call. \r After still waiting for that returned call, I decided to chuck it up as a lesson learned a vow to NEVER step foot in Fatou's again and would advise that anyone who wants quality work done follow suite!\r \r more

Great Work! 1/30/2012

I had a great experience at this shop. They started right away and finished my twist within 4 hrs. I have nothing negative to say about the service, but the shop needs some work. BAD! All in all I am pleased and would go back again. more

Never Go To Fatou's For Yarn Dreads !!!!!!! 8/4/2011

I called to ask if they do yarn dreads and was told yes !!! I had to wait 3 hrs for the girl to come from SC. Then she didn't even know how to do them another older lady had to tell her how to cut and loop the yarn . When cutting the yarn she cut some to short and some to long needless to say I was completely blowed beause she didnt know what the hell she was doing !!!!! For $ 180.00 it should have been perfect. I had to instruct her on how to do them I have been wearing them for two years and can do them myself... But just wanted to treat myself because I was going out of time... But I will be doing them myself for now on...They are unprofessional and feel like you owe them something.... They put 2 and 3 people on your head pulling it in all directions. not in this lifetime will I ever go back to Fatou's in Savannah ............. more

Don't Waste Your money!!! 1/21/2011

First of all, they are very unprofessional! The shop is supposed to open at 7:00 a.m. The stylists all came at 8:00a.m.\r \r I wanted cornrows and nobody wanted to do them. Finally, one person came through the door willing to do them. I showed her a picture and of course she claimed to be able to do them. \r \r Long story short, my hair looked nothing like the picture. I went on a Saturday and by Thursday I was taking that mess out of my hair. Don't even get me started on the knots and how bad my head hurt!!!!\r \r Save your money...go someplace else :) more

I only get Sew-ins 12/8/2010

They open at 7 am!!! I'm the first in their door and the first to leave. I love this shop. My sew-ins last 5 months! I have not one complaint. Great service! more

Stop!!!!!! 3/1/2010

They make you wait forever, they tell you different prices, and the knot on the end meant I had to pay them to take them out and they did not care how they took them out. When they got done my hair was broken off very badly and had to be cut. more

Save your money 3/1/2010

I went in at 2pm and called before I went I wated for about two hours before someone started on me and did not leave there till 1040pm then on top of that in the frist week I lost 8 briads because the knots was not done right more

I have gotten my hair braided about 4 times at this shop. I have never been satisfied. They are fast braiders but the quality is lacking. They don't ask you how you want your braids to fall/lay and everytime I have one there, my braids start falling out after 1-3 days. My hair was braided on feb 13th, on the 14th 2 braids have fallen out. It is now the 17th and so many of my braids are loose I can't count. Plus the braids in the middle are much bigger than the edges. Pros: speed Cons: quality, customer treatment more

Savanah's best hair braiding shop 1/15/2009

Fatou's is the best place to go for hair braiding. Their braids are so neat and proffesional. They take no time in getting it done. I recommend this place to anyone. more

Fatou's African Hair Braiding Savannah, GA 10/18/2008

I was not satisfied with their service at all! They tell you one price on the phone, change it once you get there and don't ask how you want your braids to fall or if you want a part. Also they lock the braids so you can't take them out yourself. Not worth the time or money! more

Fast service 8/15/2007

Fatous is really great. They get the job done for fast braiding. When you think of how long the braids last the price is really good! more
