Falls Road Veterinary Hospital, A Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner

This is in response to the review listed as most helpful critical review. Falls Road Veterinary Hospital in Potomac has NEVER claimed to handle "show dogs". I believe that this reviewer is confusing Falls Road in Potomac with Falls Road Animal Hospital in Baltimore.This happens frequently and her comments make it clear to anyone who knows Fall Road Vet in Potomac that she is mistakenly attributing her complaints to the wrong vet hospital.Falls Road in Potomac offers complete exceptional veterinary care and has never pretended to be "glamorous"! I have worked at Falls Road Vet. hosp. for 3 years now and wouldn't leave even if they fired me! I see dogs and cats from the sick to the well, the nasty and the fun, and no matter what animal they all get the best care we can give them. All our vets, techs and kennel staff do everything in our power to care for and advise owners how to care for their animals in the best way possible. I wish that if you have herd bad things about us, you take the time to come visit and see for yourself how clean and friendly we all are. more

I took my dog to Falls Road for an injury. They were very thorough and clean. They treated my dog very kindly even though he was a little tough to handle. I left there feeling assured that he would be fine with some medications and care at home....I would definitely recommend Falls Road to anyone looking for a vet. more

Opposite to the previous review, I do not think the vets are that great. My dog was misdiagnosed by Dr. A and almost died. He was saved at the Emergency Clinic in Rockville. What he had was not that hard to diagnose with the X-rays they took. Their medications are outrageously expensive, 3 times at least more than over the net with pet pharmacies. The staff is nice by the vets, especially Dr. A, are pretentious and have that Potomac attitude. They are looking down at you, and don't seem to be able to use plain English to explain a situation which is one of the requirements I ask a vet to have. I also want my vet to tell me when he doesn't know. Not knowing and acknowledging it is fine with me, and then I go to the next step: a specialist. But do not tell me you know when you don't because you then put the life of my dog in jeopardy. I stopped going there, and will not go back. I just don't trust them at all. There are better vets around Potomac and far less expensive. more

We have taken our Labrador Retriever to Falls Road Vet for about 2 years now. The nurses / receptionists are very nice and helpful, but some can be a bit pushy since they are a busy office and are what I like to call "stingy" with their appointments. The vets are nice too and great with the animals. Since my husband and I are young and look even younger, I do feel a sense of lecturing when we were seeking advice on the neutering, training, etc. of our dogs. This, itself, is quite annoying. But other than that, this is a good vet hospital. But again - a busy one. more
