Frank Lloyd Wright designed Fallingwater in the 1930s and it continues to be preserved and beautifully restored by the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. Two types of tours are offered - guided tours of inside the house and the grounds and self-guided tours (for less money) of the grounds and the outside of the house. The self-guided tours are cheaper and due to the many windows basically the visual equivalent of the guided tours but you miss out on the historical information provided by the guide. The house seamlessly blends into the Western Pennsylvania wilderness making it a key example of Wright's style of architecture and a must-see excursion from the Philadelphia area.
