<p>As a building inspector for the Ohio Department of Health, he saw the unfortunate results of inferior construction and how it impacted residents. As a building management planner for the state of Ohio, he worked with everyone from individual homeowners to multinational firms that needed environmental and construction assistance. In 1989, he started a regional environmental engineering firm that tested air quality and building materials in literally hundreds of homes, businesses, institutions and industrial complexes, long before "green" was a buzz word.</p>
