Best New York Optometrist 2/26/2011

If you want the total package go there. Amazing doctors, accomodating staff, and they carry beautiful glasses. They even spent time helping me understand that the type of lenses they use makes a big difference. Honestly, it was a bit over my head, but my new glasses are really better than any I've had in the past. It's nice to see a company still offering better products and services in this economy and not turning to cheap lenses and frames like most of the chains. Keep up the good work! I noticed there are 2 listings for Eye Q so I posted in both :) more

I am a long time Very Happy patient 2/26/2011

Over the years I have been a patient of Dr. Zlatin's. I am always very confident that the prescriptions he writes for me will be correct. I have a very high prescription and it has been a frusterating process finding a doctor that can get it just right. On my last exam Dr. Zlatin has recommended that I wear progressive lenses. I was very nervous because I have heard stories from my family and friends that they could not get used to them. Dr. Zlatin and his staff made me a pair of progressives eye glasses and I have to say I really love them. It did take me a few days to get used to them, but they really are terrific. I can do everything again. Also, I love the way my lenses don't look like coke bottles too! more

Great Place 4/22/2010

I had a great experience here. My eyes are complicated and the doctor was very thorough. I chose really nice glasses, My first pair of glasses that I actually love to put on. My vision see clear and the glasses look really good. The girls out front helped me choose them. They were so sweet and also helped me understand my insurance better. I saw some reviews here that surprised me. Good thing I went to Eyeq before reading them. Pros: Very Very good Doctor, love his staff, they were great. Cons: It's a busy office. more

What a joke. 11/5/2009

In the current economy, it amazes me how customer service is still falling by the wayside. I made a same day appointment and when I made the appointment - I asked the staff if the doc was running on time - as I had another appointment that day - and I was told yes. Cut to about 10 minutes before my appointment - which I showed up early for. When I arrived I again asked if the doc was running on time and was told yes. 10 minutes later - I was told the doctor was now running behind and there were TWO people in front of me. Now, I didn't see a single person come in for an ""emergency"" while I was sitting there so as I write this, I'm still trying to figure out how in less than 10 minutes the doctor when from on time to extremely behind. Am I upset that the doc was running behind - of course not. I'm pissed that the staff basically lied to my face. I have no tolerances for that and wouldn't recommend anyone deal with this business. As other reviews have said - avoid at all costs. more

Nice place, if attended to by the right person 8/1/2009

I've been going to this place for about the last 5 years for both me and my son. There is one sales associate in particular who is GREAT. I young lady with long black curly hair. I went there today for my annual eye exam and my semi annual eye glasses and I made the mistake of having a young man whom I have never seen before take care of me. He performed the pre-screening and helped me choose my frames. After that I went in to have my eyes examined. The doctor (first time that I've seen here there) performed a very thorough exam, which I was quite pleased with. She seemed nice and took her time with me. Now, when it came to paying for my glasses thats when it went downhill. The young man started ringing up stuff, all of the while asking the young lady who always takes care of me questions about my insurance billing which made me quite uncomfortable because it seemed as if he did not know what he was doing. At one point I gestured to the young lady who always takes care of me to look over my paperwork. And what did she find...a overcharge of $48.00! Not a small amount in this day and age. So, all in all, a nice place, great dark haired female sales associate, and I'll probably go back while she is there. Can't guarantee i'll be back after she's gone. Pros: Great sales associate Cons: Watch out for overcharging more

Avoid at all costs!! 2/15/2008

I had a really bad experience with the place, which only became fully clear after seeing a good optician nearly two years later, and having my eyes re-evaluated. Firstly, the counter staff were rude. For some reason a junior who worked behind the counter did some of the exam work and assessments, which I thought was odd. I went in for glasses and contacts eye test, and ordered both after my exam. The exam was rushed, and I got a sense he really just wanted to juice my insurance for as much as he could. A few days later, I went to pick up my order of contacts, got them home, put them on, and wow they were wrong! Checked the contacts against the prescription, and they had one of the lenses completely wrong. Went back to the store to complain, and they re-ordered a new batch of lenses for that eye. Lucky I checked, the counter staff had screwed up the order. They gave me one replacement lens to tide me over, until the re-order came in. A few days later I went to pick up my newly lensed glasses, and wow did they feel wrong! I found my vision was completely different to my contact lenses (which I had never had before). They just did not feel quite right, nearly right, but not right. I went back to the store, and was told by one of the opticians on duty that there was nothing wrong, they were just a new prescription and I would get used to them. I have stupidly been putting up with these contacts and glasses for about two years, until I thought it was time to see a optician for a check up. I obviously looked for a new one, and found a really good, engaged, skilled, experienced Optician this time, thankfully. After testing my glasses and looking at my contact lens prescription, then completely re-assessing my eyes - she concluded two things. Firstly, that both were not good prescriptions and definitely needed adjustment for both eyes. Secondly, that the contact and glasses prescription did not match and were quite far apart in strength! NOT GOOD!! BEWARE!! Pros: None at all Cons: Incompetent, time wasters more

Consumer BEWARE 1/2/2008

I went here with a prescription that I got from my opthalmologist, so I never got to see the doctor... I was solely there to purchase frame and lenses. The salesperson/receptionist, whatever you what like to call her, the girl at the front desk....was extremely RUDE. Her attitude sucked as did her ability to help me select a frame. That's another thing, they dont have a large selection of frames. Just a few frames repeated but in different colors. Well, the so called ""manager"" also seemed very unprofessional. I mean this is an upscale neighborhood, so you would think that the employees would sort of ""fit-in"" to the neighborhood. This wasnt the case. At this place you will find the salespeople and manager very underdressed, and sloppy too. I think they need to put their big bellies away and start wearing clothes that fit them cause as I said, they made the store itself appear very sloppy. Notice I said store and not office. I would definitely not return to this mess, I'd rather take my business to an optical chain store!!!! Cons: EVERYTHING FROM THE FRAMES TO THE HORRIBLE STAFF more
