This salon is run by a woman who is a master at styling and cutting hair. My problem is not with their expertise, it's with their level of professionalism.
I know I will ALWAYS have to wait at a hair salon, but when I'm the only one there? Sometimes I've had to wait patiently while my stylist eats dinner or talks on the phone. This lack of respect for my time really burns me - especially since they're not cheap. I don't use them anymore because of this and it's a shame because they're really good at what they do.
If you make an appointment here, let them know that you want to be out of there quickly. Otherwise, be prepared for 3+ hours of reading Jet magazine while you twiddle your thumbs - and your stylist enjoys her rice & beans.
Pros: Excellent cuts, Central NYC location, Not usually crowded
Cons: Major waiting time, Seedy area at night, Expensive
