Yesterday was my first and last time as a client. I have Never had such a Unprofessional experience at a hair salon. I have been a customer at the Nikki Clark hair salon in London on Oxford street who has pictures on the wall of the many famous that have passed through their doors Princess Di, etc... and they are not as Pretentious or Rude as the receptionist Leann was to me yesterday. And as a American in a very upscale hair salon in Europe this is saying a lot! I requested a short hair cut from Mark and even showed him the length that I wanted my hair cut. I left the hair salon not having received the short hair cut. I went to another hair salon who had a opening and Paid Again for my hair to be cut this time leaving having received what I asked for. This is the First time in my life that I have been so unhappy with a hair cut that I have Paid Two times in one day for a hair cut. more

Been going to this place for more than eight years or so. Literally, no one else touches my hair, ever, except Michael. I trust him completely. He's awesome and really talented, and I'm pretty sure the rest of the staff is too. It's a very cool place- they even get you some wine while you wait. I highly recommend it. more

I met Heidi and the rest of the Evolution crew at a fashion show a few years ago.\r \r Heidi was incredibly helpful during the show and I was very pleased with my hair style and appearance during the show, so much so that I decided to visit Evolution for a routine appointment.\r \r Heidi was very knowledgeable and had some great suggestions. From my first appointment, I felt like my hair looked better and was easier to style than it had been. I have been growing my hair out and the style seems to work well between visits. \r \r Since the first day we met, Heidi has been my go to stylist for everything. She is great for special events and has outstanding skills with highlights.\r \r She has even converted my fiancee to an Evolution regular. Make an appointment with Heidi, you will love her! more

I love this place! 3/1/2011

Matt is absolutely awesome. I can’t say enough about how great he is! I have never had a stylist pay that much attention to what I want now and in the future with my hair. He also took the time to really analyze what he thinks in his professional opinion would work for me. He really knew what he was talking about too. He explained why or why not certain hair cut methods and/or color work on my hair. I felt he really individualized my cut and color. He is very personable too! \r \r I don’t think it is possible to have an appointment with Matt and not be completely sold on him. It is more than I typically spend, but he doesn’t push anything or try to sell/add on “extras.” He will only have you do what you want and/or what is needed. For instance, since I am growing out my hair I only need to come in every four months! Every other person I went to before told me eight weeks at most. So, I will save my money to afford him, it is totally worth every dollar! \r more

Best Ever!!!!!!!! 2/23/2011

I have been coming to Mike at Evolution for about four years- he's the best ever!!!! He's doing my wedding hair, has done all of my past up-dos and every hair cut and color since I moved here. He's fantastic! All of my friends go to him as well!! We all have very different hair and different styles and he makes all of us look great!!! I havent been to other stylists at Evolution but I've seen their work when I'm in the salon and they all do an amazing job as well.\r \r I would never want to go to another salon!!! more

Amazed! 9/10/2010

For the first time in over a decade, I am able to walk out of the house with wet hair and not be afraid of what its going to look like in a couple of hours. I have very thick, VERY frizzy, hair. Great Place!! 7/27/2010

I've had my hair cut there a few times. I don't get many haircuts because I like my hair long. Sarah is a great stylist. Her rate is reasonable and very worth it. Matt one of the owners also cut my hair and he is also an amazing stylist. He costs more of course but also very worth it. The place is clean and modern. You can lounge on comfortable couches while you wait for your appointment or for your girlfriend to get her hair done. The offer drinks and snacks as well so I love having a glass of wine while I get my hair did. Love the place suggest it to anyone and everyone. Pros: Great atmosphere, great people Cons: no cons in my book! more

Heavenly hair by Heidi 2/14/2010

Evolution is an experience like no other salon. I have been a client of Heidi's for over 10 years, most of that time while living in NYC. While I went to other salons and had stylist throughout the years attempt to measure up to what Heidi has always delivered, amazing hair! Now back in Minneapolis what was a twice a year trip has turned into a regular stop to sit back, relax and let Heidi create my lastest look. She is truly talented!!! Thanks Heidi!! BEST ARTISTS in the City 2/11/2010

Best color/cut experience in the city. The newly remodled salon is so gorgeous and spacious. Heidi S. is the best artist in the salon, HANDS DOWN! She can really turn your normal everyday look and give it whatever style/attitude you desire. She also offers great insight if your lost and have no direction. I visit her every 6 weeks religiously! Best place to get a haircut in Minneapolis! 1/30/2010

I get my hair cut by Mark Dolan who really knows what he is doing! I walk out every time feeling like a rock star.\r \r I have curly hair, and Mark takes the time to first cut it when it's wet, then blow dry, straighten, and then recut to make sure everything is perfect. He does it in less than an hour, and always welcomes me back in just for a quick style before events. \r \r The product line is awesome, and the prices are unbeatable for the skill-level presented by Mark. Best place for a hair cut in town! Pros: HIgh skill level from the stylists, great decor and service. Cons: Can't think of any, and I'm being honest. more

I have been here twice now, and Mel cut my hair both times. I would go every time I need a cut, but I currently live in Oregon. She does good work, is awesome to chat with, and I'll be sure to be back the first chance I get! Oh, good pricing too; but I'm a guy and haircuts pricing is usually pretty standard. Best hair coloring experience. Second to none. 7/20/2009

The decor is super relaxing. Nothing snobbish about this salon. The music was wonderful (iPOD mix). My stylist, Mel, took great care of me. She gave me the style & color I requested + threw in a deep conditioning treatment! That made up for the wait.\r I would recommend this place to all of my friends & family. Mike, an owner at Evolution, has created a warm inviting environment for all to enjoy. \r My hair cut is still fabulous and I will be a regular client!\r Thanks guys! Keep up the great work. Pros: Fabulous atomosphere! Kind stylists. Relaxing! Cons: 30 minutes behind schedule...wait was a bit long. more

Great Service! 7/16/2009

I don't normally write reviews but after my experience at Evolution, I just had to. I am very picky with my hair and have been to places like Tres Jolie but I never was too happy with the haircuts anywhere... that is until Mark cut my hair! He listened to me but also had his own suggestions and the outcome was great! He did not rush with the haircut and paid special attention to the details that make a haircut perfect. I cannot tell you how happy I am with the service I received! Everyone else was also very friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend Evolution Experience! Two names: Sarah and Mark!\r \r I go to Mark for coloring, and to Sarah for my cuts- and I have the best hair this side of Minneapolis :] Anyone who is anyone comes to this salon. They have all the newest magazines while you wait, have a glass of Diet Coke and listen to some good tunes. Color is always vibrant, and the styling last for the next couple days.\r \r Come to Evolution!!!! Pros: Friendly staff, Great music more

Found this salon through Citysearch, and it is definitely the BEST hair coloring experience I have ever had! \r I know everyone always says the same thing… “I’ve been looking for years to find the right person to do my hair! And I’ve always disappointed. Well, ladies and gentlemen, I can honestly and happily say that “I’VE FINALLY FOUND MY PERFECT HAIR GIRL!” Heidi is the best colorist in the Twin Cities. Heidi made my hair look healthy and shinny AND the correct color. Everywhere I have gone since Heidi colored my hair I have received comments like I love your hair! Even my husband has made comments! Best Salon in the Twin Cities 1/22/2009

I was referred to Mike at Evolution last fall and I am absolutely hooked! For the last 10 years I've been going to Juut and can't believe I've been missing out on the Evolution experience all this time! Since September I've been in to the salon one to two times per month for various services and every time they have exceeded my expectations! The staff is so friendly and fun, I look forward to visiting with everyone each time I go. I work full-time and have two young children and can't say enough about how much I enjoy going in to pamper myself and always leave feeling refreshed and looking fabulous! I receive so many compliments on my hair now and everyone asks where I go and I always recommend they go to Evolution! Pros: Ambience, free parking, skilled stylists, great customer service more

Keepin it fresh 1/2/2009

Mel has consistently given me hair that I am proud to rock. She is always thorough and friendly with something a little fresh every time. I know it's probably just my natural good looks, but the ladies seem to run their hands through it and give it a good pull whenever I am out. That's Real! Oh and she's smokin hot.
