Best Decision Ever.\r I have been a member of South Florida's Events & Adventures for almost 2 years. In that time I have made amazing friendships and met my girlfriend. We don't go to as many events as we used to, but we still see the friends we made through the organization on a regular basis. For people who hate dating online this is a good way to broaden your network of friends. The activities are usually fun and most of the people who join are busy professionals like me. \r \r Reviewers who say it's expensive must work part time at Walmart because I spend more going out for beers once a week than I spent on my membership and met a beautiful woman.\r \r Good decision. i would do it again.\r \r more

NO MORE LONELY NIGHTS!\r I am so glad I joined Events and Adventures! I am a divorced woman with a successful career and I was so tired of doing nothing on weekends, or worse, getting together with married friends and feeling out of place. Events and Adventures is my second family. We are always trying new things and everyone who is a member went through a screening process. This is a safe, fun, easy way to meet single people. My chance of meeting someone wonderful has increased wildly and the chance of me spending one more lonely night at home in sweat pants has gone to zero! more

I really had big expectations for this service, I had my ""interview"" with Ronni Schilling and she promised the sky and the stars... and that is what bothered me the most, they should be upfront and only sign up the right people. Ronni also told me that the membership ""pays for itself"" with all the discounts I get for the events, LIE! Paintball was $45 through E&A and when I got there I had to pay for extra things so I ended up paying more than if I would have shown up there myself. 2nd Event was the same thing, no discount. I am 33 years old, and my specific questions were: 1. What is the age range of the members. 2. What is the female/male ratio for the events. 3. How many people attend per event on an average. 4. What happens if I don't like the service. 1. Ronni told me that I am a perfect candidate because the majority of the members are my age. LIE. I went to 2 events and most of the people were 45 and over. They are all nice people but I didn't pay $1,500 to meet and hangout with people 10+ years older than me that we don't have anything in common. 2.Ronni told me that they have more females attending to the events, most of the time is 50-50 and in rare events 40-60 depending on the event. LIE. The 1st event I attended only 8 people showed up, 2 females (1 was the event coordinator). When I called to complain she said ""you can call the office to check how many people are going, age range and the male/female ratio"". So I asked her about it for my next event and she said ""26 people, most your age range, 50-50 male/female ratio"" LIE!!! She lied right on the phone! The second event was 80-20 ratio (again one of the girls was the event coordinator) and the AGE RANGE AGAIN! Most of the crowd was over 45! 3. Ronni told me that so many people attend to the events that sometimes they have to turn people away and every time you meet new people. The 2 events that I attended had poor attendance as another person mention in their reviews. I talked to other members and they told me they usually see the same people at each event, and in fact 95% showed up for the 2nd event. 4. Ronni told me if you don't like the service you can stop at any time and you will get a refund for the unused time. LIE. I called her to complain and cancel my membership and she said ""you can't cancel it, sorry it doesn't work that way"" and I replied but you told me! and she said ""that is only if you would pay everything in full, not payment plans"". I was really furious... but I was calm, I told her that I was just informing her very nicely that I am canceling my membership, she said ""we will send this to collection then"". So I hung up the phone and I disputed the charges with my credit card and I will take this to a small court if needed as it's outrageous! A complain with the BBB it's on its way. So... if you are in my age range.... DON'T SIGN UP! You will be disappointed! If you are over 45, this might be for you, but don't let them steal your money! They must live to the promise of their services, if they don't, don't steal people's money! it's not fair. Be upfront and tell new members what they will expect or not. Just to end... their website is outdated, if you forget your password you can't even reset your password online, you have to call the office, and if you are calling after hours... you're doomed until next business day. Their website doesn't tell you how many people have signed up, age range or sex for the events. Seriously they charge so much money and their website looks like if it was made 10 years ago. If you don't believe me everything I wrote here, make an appointment, see Ronni Schilling, see what she tells you then waste some money and go to the events, I know I did. more

Happy, long time E&A Member 1/12/2011

I have been a member for over 2 years now. I must say that when i first joined I was skeptical. Who wouldnt be really? You are joining a service that unfortunately you cannot just try out before you sign up for a membership since it is a private club. \r My first event I was a little discouraged because I didnt immediately find people that I clicked with. My Member Director encouraged me to continue going to events, so that I can continue to meet new people and try new things. I took her advice, and I am so glad that I did.\r After being a member for over 2 years I now can say I have meet some really great people, and some of my closet friends. \r I have tried things I never would have done on my own:\r Skydiving, rode a segway, white waterrafting...even tried Archery!\r \r This is such a great organization, and I can honestly say that E&A has changed my life so dramatically for the better! more

Borderline Fraud... Run for your life (Social life that is) 8/29/2008

Completely agree with previous reviewer. These people will tell you exactly what you want to hear and more to get you to sign a contract that you will not be able to get out off later... that will be the last time you will get any type of customer service from them, and don't try to call them to complaint unless you are prepared to be yelled at. \r The event hostesses, coordinators and other employees are rude to say the least, the events are mediocre, they not only charge a very expensive yearly- non-refundable fee plus a $25 monthly maintainance fee, but they will overcharge you for some of the events. For example, there is an event at ""laughing matters"" that is supposed to include dinner and entertainment, they will charge you $60 to go through them, when the actual cost of the event is $58 (with everything included) and you can get a coupon of their website for $20 off, or they will charge you $10 (per person) to meet at a club or a restaurant and advertise they will have lots of appetizers but they will only allow enough to buy one round of appetizers for 6 people despite the fact that there are 15 at the table and you'll have to pay for your own drinks of course (unless the restaurant itself picks up that part of the bill, as part of a promotion).\r Basically your membership only pays for their own expenses and the salaries of people that do not deserve to have a job.\r The sad part is that once you sign up, there is no way to void the contract and there is only a 3 days period that you can use to ask for a refund (of course they won't tell you anything about that) so if you sign up on a Monday, work late all week and your first event is not until Saturday (since most of their events are around 6pm.. you probably won't be able to attend any during a working week...lame) you'd have already lost your opportunity to ask for a refund before you had a chance to attend an event and realize you were fooled and feel like an idiot for falling on their trap. Cons: Everything! more

Keep your money and RUN! 8/28/2007

Horrible! Expensive! Non-responsive! Poor customer service! Mediocre events! Lousy communication! Could have participated in the events they line up without ever using them...there are plenty of meet-up singles groups that are FREE! Worst ""investment"" i have EVER made! My mistake tho, i should have investigated before plunking down my money. Pros: Nice idea. Cons: Expensive. Poorly executed. NO customer service. Poorly organized. more
