Great haircut and color 1/7/2010

Summary...This is a great salon. $50 for a haircut in Boston is not expensive, it actually on the cheaper side, those people must be used to going to Super Cuts. If you are skeptical about the poeple, ask for Gosha. I have gone to her 5 times now and am always loving my hair cut/colors.\r \r I first went here to get my hair fixed. I received a horrible hair cut from Dellaria's (Kenmore), a shoulder length bob with layers...but the layers were blunt and not blended (it looked like steps going up the back of my head). I just randomly walked into Enzo's at a 7pm on Wednesday night to get it fixed.\r \r I walked out of there loving my new hair cut (even though it was short than I wanted, since she needed to even it out). I first saw Holly...who has now moved on. I was diappointed to hear that since I have had a hard finding a reliable hair dresser in Boston.\r \r A couple months later, I decided to risk it at the salon again with a new stylist, and I couldn't have been happier. I made a new appointment with Gosha. She gave me a great cut and colored my hair (again, a botched highlighting job from Dellaria's). My color was fantastic, but I got a demi hair color that washes out in 3-5 months...which is exactly the amount of time commitment I wanted for a new color. The color was great, and it slowly faded out of my hair and you could never see a root line.\r \r Whenever I go, it is never very crowded. It at times can get awkward with all the people just standing around. But it is totally worth it for the great cut. Pros: never crowded, relaxing atmosphere Cons: owners wonder around to look at cuts more

Worst haircut of my life!!!! DONT GO!!!! 6/16/2008

In addition to being somewhat expensive ($40) junior stylist gave me a hideous hair cut!! I felt like crying after that!! I had long fine curly hair, which I liked wearing long curly. She cut a lot, layered it so much, thinning it out with a razor making it look like I had split ends everywhere. Who does that?! She cut my hair so that the back half was slightly longer, very thinned out and very stringy while the front half was still a little thick and much shorter so she made me look like a mushroom!. Everyone, and I mean everyone, who saw me consented that my hair was butchered, and it looked terrible. So it's not a subjective opinion. In addition, many of the stylists were very pretentious. They obviously dismissed me when I told them that I didn't want to cut or layer it very much, and that I liked my hair thick and curly! Worst haircut I had in my life!!! more

Buyer's beware - ask for the price before you sit down. 5/27/2008

Since I live out of state, I called to make arrangements to have my hair done for my daughters wedding. The website shows the price starting at $30. My hair is extremely short. The young lady who did my hair did nothing special but it was fine. When I got up to pay, the cashier first said $30 but then realizing that it was for the wedding, changed it to $50. They took advantage of the situation. If you intend to go there, ask for the price up front. They seem to make it up as they go. more

Best color and cut in Boston but very very busy Saturdays 5/14/2008

Let me tell you I had my hair colored in several high end salons in New York City, I was in search of a good salon known for color when my freind told me to check out Johnny at Enzo salon., I made an appointment and when I walked in it was the most warming and inviting salon I had ever been into. We started witha 10 min consultation then he did his work and I had the best blonde color I have ever had in my life. Really simple he is the BEST!!!! I will referr him to every one I know! Thanks Johnny! Pros: highly skilled colorist Cons: None!! more

Horrible Salon! 1/30/2008

I went to Johnny for a cut and color. I have blonde hair that i've been highlighting for years. I left my appointment with orange hair and horrible roots. I immediately called to make another appointment because I was so unhappy with the results. I left a second time and still had horrible orange roots. I would not recommend going here if you have blonde hair. The quality of service was completely unacceptable for the price! I felt like someone right out of hairdressing school had done my hair. The highlights were applied way too far away from my scalp. My stylist was blaming my past hairdresser for the orange color in my roots when the real problem was the color was not left on my dark roots for long enough for them to turn blonde. I ended up paying $300 for a half head of highlights and a cut. I would not have paid even $50 for the services I received. Can't wait to have my hair fixed with a professional next month!!! Cons: quality of service more

Beautiful Haircuts and Color!! 9/30/2007

I have tried over 10 salons in Boston, I found Enzo and Co and I knew I was not going anywhere else. I know what a bad haircut and color are, I have had them from other salons, but not this one!! I have been going to Enzos for years, since they have opened. Katia is my colorist and always get it right. She always listens to what I want to do for my color. Johnny and Enzo have both done my haircuts and both are great! You pay for what you get, which is great service and personal attention! I always feel great when I walk out! Great staff and personalities. I have recommended this place to people at work and they love it too!!! Pros: Professional, Clean, Personal Attention Cons: Can't think of any.... more

WOW!! I am OBSESSED with ENZO & CO. SALON...I was recommended to this salon from a friend. I've heard of Enzo and Co. through flyers and from some hair shows in the past. These 3 group of guys did a great job creating a warm, friendly, sleek environment for their customers. Not to mention the beautiful exotic girls that also work at the salon. They are really warm down to earth group of people. I feel comfortable walking into the salon unlike some other salons on Newbury St. I also have seen some familiar faces from TV walk into the salon which had me star struck! I have been a client of Enzo and Co for the past 2 years!!! They will accommedate to your needs!! I definitly recommend ENZO & CO. SALON to anyone who is looking for a salon or day spa!!! Pros: great atmosphere, friendly workers, moderatly priced more

Worst Hair Cut Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DOn't go!!! 5/29/2007

I went there with long thick beautiful hair and came out with a short razored mess!!! Who razors hair still? It?s the worst for your hair!!!! I specifically said I don't want my hair short because it is curly. When my hair cut was done I didn't know whether to cry or scream. He didn?t listen to a word I said. It was SUPER short and thinned out!!! I have never been so upset in my life and it?s way to over priced there!!!!! more

Worst Haircut of My Life... I looked like a mushroom. 5/22/2007

So I went in one night looking to get a haircut because a friend had recommended the place. The girl at the desk was relativiely rude and didn't want to pay attention to me. She set me up with a guy to cut my hair (I want to say his name was Maurice but I'm not positive). My hair was probably down to my shoulderblades and I told him I wanted it right below my shoulders, and I like to wear it curly. Well I have very thick hair, and when he was done I wanted to scream. First of all he didn't listen to what I said at all. He cut my hair by maybe an inch, and just made it flip out by 6 inches on either side. Also, he left the top half of my head heavy and thick, and thinned out the bottom (ridiculously flipped out layer) and left it straggly and thin. It took me 9 months to grow it out so it didn't look as bad underneath, and even then the stylist mentioned how butchered my hair was. I have never been so upset in my life AND on top of that it was overpriced. I don't care if it is on Newbury street, I could've gotten a better haircut at Supercuts. Pros: Clean Cons: Rude, Overpriced, Oblivious to wants more

No one's mentioned Holly 5/10/2007

I moved to Boston from New York and was told about Enzo. I asked to meet with Michelle, but she wasn't available and so I met Holly instead. I was really happy with the colour and cut she gave me, I went for something different the next time and she still gave me a great cut. I have naturally curly hair that I like to wear both curly and straight, and she cut it in such a way that I can do that. Besides this, she's friendly, stunning, and unpretentious which all helps. All you could want from a hairdresser on Newbury St.\r \r As for the others, apart from wishing they'd stop showing me their underwear (Gosha! Really! I know you have great Eurotits but please...), it's a great salon. Pros: Great haircut, good prices, attention to service Cons: Those full length mirrors (ugh) and all that SKIN more

if lopsided helmuts, straight out of super-cuts is your forte..... 4/3/2007

\r tried this place three times, each time with ANTONIO.\r asked for to grow my bangs out, but he manages to ignore it every time, and cut it so it will stick me in the eye... once again.\r if I wanted to look EMO, I would've came in with a picture of an emo-kid.\r \r I sat straight, never flinched once, came home with a friggin lopsided helmut? how this happened, I DO NOT KNOW.\r \r asked for very simple layers, got what looks like skills from Super Cuts.\r not to mention expensive, 100$ with non-deserving tips.\r ugh. the heartache.....\r \r hello, hair-tie and hat. I am back. another 3 months of lonely nights at home with my cat.\r \r (you've been warned). Pros: nice view from second floor window, stylist combed my hair. Cons: horrendous results, uncomfortable washing chairs, evil-eyed female staffs, remnants of hair on robe from previous customers. more

I look like a rock star. 11/7/2006

But don't worry, if you want to look sweet and sophisticated, they can do that, too. My hair used to look flat, but now I have just the right amount of volume because of the cut I got at Enzo. I would recommend making a reservation, though, because walk-ins won't be taken immediately on busy days. Pros: Skilled stylists, Friendly more

Best Salon on Newbury St!!!! 6/24/2006

I just want to begin by saying what a wonderful staff at Enzo and Co. The first time I've heard about the salon was at one of their shows at Aria night club. I fell in love with the hair styles they chose to do with the models. They had passed out some flyers on their services. I thought why not? Walking into the salon didn't make me feel uncomfortable, as you would at other salon on Newbury St. The owners and staff made me feel at home. I was greeted with a warm welcome. I had booked an appointment with Antonio for a cut. He is the most professional hair dresser I have ever met. I told him I didn't really know what kind of cut I wanted. I told him I trust his judgement, I left it in his hands... Antonio gave me the best hair cut I ever recieved in my life!! I've been going to him for over 2 years and he's worth every penny and more. Just to let everyone know, he is now doing color. I definitly recommend anyone who wants a hair cut and color at a great price definitly check out Enzo and Co!!! Pros: great location, warm environment, 1 stop shopping to get everything done in one shot! more

unprofessional 5/11/2006

as soon as i walked into this place i was greeted however when i sat in the chair and got my hair done the stylist kept talking bad about his employees and other clients who are ""crazy"" or ""cheap"". they showed up so late one day i had to cancel my appointment which was very disappointing. what got to me the most was all the mean things he would say about his own employees. i've heard very good things about katia and michelle and would love to go to them. they seem extremely nice and professional. anybody else though, no way. not worth my time, patience, or mentality. Pros: reception, assistants, cleanliness Cons: unprofessional, bad, bad more

Bellissima! 4/6/2006

This Salon is heaven! I love it! The people there are Wonderful, everything about it is just great! It makes you feel warm as you enter through the doors. The brings the feeling of Italy right to you. I get my hair and eyebrows done and they do an excellent job at it! I never felt like this with any other salons. This is truly the best salon in Boston! more

Fabulous Experience 3/11/2006

I could not have asked for a better experience. I wanted a change, but had difficulty ariculating exactly what I wanted. Johnny thoughfully examined my prior cut and color before making his suggestions. He did a beautiful job on the color and his brother, Enzo, gave me a phenomenal cut that I still love, five weeks later. I haven't felt so good about my hair in ages and I've been up and down Newbury Street. They are wonderfully talented at Enzo & Company. Pros: Talented, Creative, Professional more

just not enough 1/17/2006

My friend and I had coupons for this place so we each made an appointment to get our hair cut there. One of my other friends decided to come along as a walk-in. We got to the salon on time, but had to wait half an hour before they could attend to us. On top of that, my friend who was a walk-in was able to sit down and have her hair cut before the two who made appointments could. My stylist, Johnny, was very personable and did a fantastic job on my hair, but I still would not recommend going to this place if you don't have a lot of time on your hands. There are other places that give equally amazing cuts without the wait. Pros: great cut Cons: inconvenient more

Love It.. 1/12/2006

Michelle is by far the most talented colorist ever.... I used to be a stylist at a Newbury Street salon for years and after leaving the industry to pursue another career I decided to give Enzo & Co a try. She's patient, she listens and really brought back the integrity of my overprocessed blonde hair to a perfect tone of blonde that looks healthy, natural and full of life. Her application is flawless, never overlapping onto previously lightened hair and blending multiple shades together to accomplish one balanced result... her understanding of color makes her by far the best colorist I know. I don't have my hair cut there so I can't comment on that but if you're a blonde I definately recommend giving Michelle at Enzo a call, she's GREAT... and super nice, she doesn't make you feel uncomfortable and she explains EVERYTHING she's doing.... :) Pros: great color, knowledgeable more

Finally found my salon! 1/7/2006

I went there a few weeks to get a haircut and check it out. I had just got my hair highlighed at James Joseph and with no cut it was over $300.00 so needless to say I needed to look around. I finally read some reviews and tried it here. I had Anthony cut my hair. I loved it! He did a great job and listened to exactly what I wanted. It wasnt snobby in there or overpriced at all! I made an appointment for my color. TOny does just cuts only but I hear the other people are just as good. I will be returning and I have already had people ask me where I got it cut. Defintley try it and see for yourself Pros: price, hours more

VERY pleased with my haircut, worth every penny. Johnny has made my hair look the best it ever has. Lauren, one of the shampoo girls/assistants - definately the bombshell hottie of Enzo & co, gives a great shampoo. Very cool and modern atmosphere, friendly faces, very warm and considerate staff. Will recommend to salon to many. Thanks more
