Never want to come here again 4/28/2011

There is nothing that can impress you in this restaurant. I came here and ruined my day and money. A low variety of food with high prices makes it a total waste. The restaurant also provide the facility of night club but the charges are not to be affordable also the sound system is not so good. I never want to come here again. more

Beware the empty restaurant! 9/1/2009

I used to frequent Atlanta years ago and had the opportunity to eat at many of the fantastic places to eat. So, when I found out that I was going to be in Atlanta for a week, I was over the moon. So I called my good friend Rob and his wife to pick out some placesfor a great meal. Both of us had heard some good buzz about Enoteca so was very happy to get a reservation at 7 on a Friday night. The alarms started sounding in my noggin when there was only one table full and they were getting ready to leave. But, how wrong can the buzz be I said to my friends and we sat to eat. Pros: Mains were good Cons: Horrifying Service and lack of wine more

Don't order the ravioli.... 10/24/2008

This was a dissapointing experience to say the least. A friend and I went before seeing a show at the Fox, and while were lucky enough to get a table promptly, I wish we had walked out instead. I admit that the place has charm and is well decorated...ambiance was not the problem. While my friend ordered a salad, I chose the butternut squash ravioli, priced at $19. I felt that it was a reasonable price until I recieved my meal. On the plate there were THREE ravioli (not oversized) and two scallops. While the food was cooked fine, the ""butter"" sauce they were drowning in was almost pure oil. I have never been so appalled at a portion size. I have eaten at nice restaurants, so this is not a case of ignorance about fine dining. When asked about our experience by the server, we mentioned the portion size and were flippantly told ""oh, well butternut squash is very expensive."" I do quite a bit of gourmet cooking, and I know how expensive food is and is not, and I know the price of butternut squash has not risen to that ludicrous of a price. Also, when I finished my meal (rather quickly) I was passed by my own server and other staff three times before my plate was cleared. For those who still want to brave the experience, as a side note, there were upcharges on sharing and multiple payments. As a final note, this is not just a random rant by an overly harsh critic, in fact I have never before this experience been compelled to even write a review. But, as it ruined the first half of what I expected to be a lovely night out at the theatre, I felt I needed to have my say. Pros: Ambience Cons: Portion size, bad for ""family style"" eating and sharing more

We Had Reservations!!! 6/12/2008

I really wish I could write an informative review, but alas, I cannot. We had reservations for 6:15PM and walked in the door at 6:21. Our table had been given away in those brief 6 minutes. We waited until 7, still had not been seated, so we grabbed a sandwich at Quizno's. I have never been to a restaurant who gave up a table after 6 minutes. While the menu really appealed to me, I'm not sure I will go back. more

Avoid on Weekend Show Nights 3/31/2008

My wife and I had mixed results on a Fox Saturday show night. We expected a long wait, but were able to find a bar seat after 20 minutes. We were promptly removed from the seats by the hostess who proceeded to seat a guest that was waiting for a dining room seat. Rather awkward situation since we were not offered the choice of bar seating. We ordered drinks from the bar, and then decided to sit in the outdoor patio area to save on the wait time - even though it was a cold and wet night. It took some time to flag down the person who took our bar order so we could pay and be seated. more

i feel like i'm back in roma 12/11/2007

whenever i go here i try something different. lately, i just close my eyes and point to something on the menu. this trick must work as i have not been disappointed yet! every dish i have tried has been superb! after dining here about 7 times i decided it was time to share this little slice of italian heaven with the rest of atlanta. amazing fresh tasting food (a rarity in a world full of chain restaurants!), friendly staff, great location and free parking! Pros: fresh food, beautiful atmosphere, nice people Cons: can't think of any! more

Wonderful food, lovely atmosphere... 11/12/2007

If you are looking for typical Italian - you should avoid this place. I'm a ""foodie"" and loved this restaurant. There's lots of dark wood and soft candelight which makes for a very romantic atmosphere. The food is more southern Italian, specializing in grilled entrees, cheeses and cured meats. There were fish options and several pastas as well. It felt very European. Our waitress was from Russia and made some lovely recommendations. She selected a nice Chianti for us and then chose the cheeses and cured meats that we sampled. She suggested the grilled meats for two for our entree. There was also a fish special that one of our colleagues ordered and quite enjoyed. The grilled meat platter came with a center of canellini beans sauteed with tomatoes and garlic on a bed of greens, which had wonderful flavor. It was all served with an arugula pesto. We started with a delectable Ceasar salad, but there other salad and appetizer options which I'd love to try sometime. For dessert we had the prosecco cake which was light and rich at the same time. I will come back here anytime we return to Atlanta. This was truly one of the nicest dining experiences I've had in years. There is nothing common about this restaurant. It was relaxing, very romantic and worth many trips back. more

Avoid ""the norm"" 5/17/2007

This is a great place! Very romantic, as they've definitely mastered the ""wine cellar"" feeling ~ or sit on the patio and enjoy a view of Atlanta's most popular street. The menu is small but there is something for everyone - its not your every day italian menu as the pasta is very limited, but the meat is fantastic, the bread is always great, and the unique menu items make it difficult to choose just one thing. The service is always great (Tom knows his stuff!), and its worth any wait you may experience. GREAT date spot! (Unless you're going to a show, try to go on a night that has a quiet Fox, otherwise you'll be waiting!) more

Best Place to Dine Near the Fox Theater 2/3/2007

Enoteca is truly amazing! We started our meal with several delicious small plates ? tuna crostini, tomini pancetta (Italian bacon wrapped around cheese and fried), and several meats and cheeses ? and for our entrees we had the fish of the day (grouper baked with olives, tomatoes, and potatoes) and mixed seafood skewers. The skewers were our least favorite, as there were more vegetables than seafood on them, but they still tasted good. We ended with a nice chocolate mousse dessert served with soaked ladyfingers. Everything was delicious and the service was exceptional. The waitress was well versed in Enoteca?s dishes and provided several great recommendations, including our wine. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, and of the three owned by the same family (Baroanda, Bazaar, and Enoteca), Enoteca was our favorite and we will definitely be back. Pros: Food, service, reasonable prices, validated parking at the Georgian across the street Cons: None! more

Good wine list 8/8/2006

The main attraction here is the wine list. It is a very well put together list and reaches all price ranges and preferences. The food is really ordinary for the most part. The standard items on the menu are nothing to drool over, but they do occasionally have a special that is worth getting. Overall I would limit myself to appetizers and a glass or bottle of wine. Pros: Wine, service Cons: Ordinary food more

Get in now before you never can get in 8/8/2006

The food at Enoteca is fabulous. I have eaten here over a dozen times, and each and everytime I am treated like royalty. This is where you want to take important clients for lunch. Quiet enough for conversation, swanky enough to impress and priced so you don't look like you just throw money away. Just as good as Baraonda, next door, only you can still get a table. Pros: Food, Service, Ambience Cons: Parking more

Next door to Baraonda 7/29/2006

Good food, but the menu is limited, no wait for 2 people on Sat. night. Pros: Next door to Baraonda, Fox Theatre Cons: Small menu, price more
