Emersons Restaurant

There was hardly anything on the menu. Only 3 pre-fix dinners and a few ala cart plates. There was my wife, my son (20) and myself. After showing my Restaurant $25.00 Gift Certificate I was told by the waiter to give it him when my bill arrived. I know I was always told to give it to the waiter before we order so he can check to make sure it is a valid Certificate. Then after ordering we were told that only two dinners could be prefix and one had to be ala cart or one had to be the most expensive prefix of $34.95. What a rip off. We each received very small portions of food for a $90.00 tab. This is what you call Moderate? It was so embarrassing the owner came over and we can see he was upset we had a certificate. Telling us he wouldn't make any money if we only ordered three 24.95 prefix dinners. He did this very loudly in front of many people seated around us. I wanted to leave but my wife was very hungry. Been there twice and enjoyed both visits. A bit cramped for someone big like me but not a deterrent. Staff and owner are attentive and concerned. They even catered to my wife's gluten intolerance by adjusting certain dishes for her. The food is very good and some are French and some are not (risotto, pasta, etc.) but it's all tasty. Nice wines, too. I would go again and recommend it. Have Jazz on some nights that's real nice. Pros: Food, service Cons: None more

Emerson's is a real find. The food is on par with any Manhattan fare and the service is so attentive. Try the crab cake and the duck! Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere Cons: Can't think of any! more
