I am trying to stay away from antibiotics because I have been on acne meds for over five years. My skin was absolutely perfect during this time period.
However, I knew this was not a sustainable method of keeping a good complexion, and knew being on meds for such a long time period could not be healthy. I have been off of meds for about 1.5 years, and recently had a major break-out.
To treat the break-out, I signed up for 2 Isolaz treatments for $99 each on lifebooker. I didn't see any improvement at all. When I actually went in for the sessions, I was told that treatments bought through lifebooker were not ""full"" treatments. I was a little annoyed because on lifebooker, they advertised it as if the $99 treatments included the entire package (extractions, isolaz, and masks).
I decided to give it some time and buy 6 ""full"" treatments for $999 (before tax). They told me I should see positive results after 2-3 sessions. However, I didn't see an improvement until my 4th treatment (6 including my lifebooker treatments). I'm not sure if it's the timing of the series, or if the change in estheticians helped. Jaime was a lot more thorough in applying the isolaz, and she gave me many lifestyle suggestions that could be contributing to my acne. She really cares about her patients is empathetic to acne-proned patients because she has experienced it as well.
I was planning on getting back on meds, but after meeting Jaime, I decided I should try 1 more series of treatments. I am only giving 3 stars at this point, because my experiences at NuVision have not been consistent. Also, when i was originally introduced to the 6-series package, I think they over-promised rather than giving realistic expectations. If this was a review for Jaime, it would be 5 stars all the way!
After my next 6-series package (will be all-in at approximately $3,000 including tax & tip), I will provide an updated review and decide whether I should go back to a dermatologist for my meds. The dermatologist route is a lot cheaper for me, since my insurance covers almost all costs associated with my treatment.
