I was really disappointed with the food after a friend said this was the best place on Olvera Street. We ordered the Fish Taco plate and the fish tasted like it had been pre-cooked and setting there for hours and they threw it in the fryer again. The cabbage was mixed with what tasted like a store bought salad dressing, not too much history there. The tacos were really ,really dry and tasteless. The chips/salsa were ok and the rice and beans were average. The table next to us ordered the same plates and they ask to send their plates back, which what we should of done also. I dont ever send something back to the kitchen for fear of what the cook will do to our next plate, I just never go back. After walking around and smelling all the food I was really set on having a good mexican dinner, but it was not to be. Mexican food is my favorite and its what I eat the most and its not that hard to make it good, so this puzzles me. The service was good and the place is nice with outdoor seating but that all means nothing when the food is disappointing.
Pros: outdoor seating on Olvera with all the history and people watching, etc
Cons: below average food, above average prices
