Don't enroll at ECA if U commute from Henry or Oldham Co! Per the Oldham County Police website, they consider I-71 wrecks & redirected traffic to 2 lane roads as separate significant emergencies, yet the school doesn?t excuse it. The board is unforgiving and shows no mercy. Even a 1 1/2hr. trip to school with proof from the Ky State police will be unexcused. Your child will be penalized after 2 tardies. They will not be allowed to dress down on special days (even on the first tardy),after the 2nd tardy they will accumulate unexcused absences ,though they are present at school ( this is illegal), and from there, reduction of grades, not allowed to make up work and expulsion. My kids have no attendance, behavior, or academic issues, this is the 6th year we?ve attended, and with this new rule, I have had to withdraw them to keep from being punished for something completely out of our control. Last school year there was over 40 morning accidents on I-71 after exit 14. Just 2 tardies a year is an impossibility. Only Jesus Christ himself could predict the traffic problems that happen on this route. They have made a private Christian education out of reach because of where we are located. This is a battle with a stress level you can?t imagine, and you will not win! (I even started video taping.) This is all verifiable, as their handbook is online. If you have to travel Oldham County roads or I-71, take my advice, and stay away. This is not to mention the fact that I prepaid the semester for both of my kids and I won't get any, of that much needed, money back. But this situation has been bad enough that I will walk away from it.
