Service at Ejo kills the whole mood 3/17/2012

I had a good laugh out of their service at Ejo. Sure, you can make mistakes in serving food etc. but the way they dealt with their own mess was extremely bizarre. Our first waitress seemed like a young waitress, so my family tried to understand her even though she almost yelled at us not to sit wherever we want (there must have been a grilled seat reserved for others). After about 20 minutes later, a second waitress came by and took our order. She forgot to bring our water cups (just a water jug on our table), but we waited with patience. Our first waitress came back and asked us to order food from the menu. We told her that we already did, but we would love to get our cups to drink some water from the water jug they brought to our table. When we asked for the cups, she demanded us to tell her which drinks we would like to have. Seriously, you don't demand customers to drink something even after we have already said that we would like to have our cups to drink some water! When we told her that we already ordered our menu and that we just need some cups to drink water, the waitress said ""I know. I am just flipping some pages"" with her snappy attitude. Her terrible service totally ruined our dinnertime! Even still, we decided to wait for our food and try not to ruin our family's mood and have some ""quiet and nice"" dinner. Two waitresses came back with our food but both of them forgot to bring our rice to eat with our main dishes. They didn't mention anything about our delayed food. One of my family members got furious (especially when one of the waitress threw down the food on our table!) and asked for a manager to come out, but he or she (the manager) wasn't even in the restaurant. What, a manager is not even in the restaurant? These whole stuffs were way too silly! That first waitress came to us and yelled ""can't you see that we have only two waitresses who are serving food at this point?"" as if we were wrong! She should have mentioned at least something, wow.. Not a single coworker tried to do anything about our complaints. We didn't dare to touch the food they served to us and just went out. I am never recommending this korean restaurant if you were to have some nice dinner service. What a day to ruin our whole mood! more

My sister and I went to Ejo today. I don't know why we had to go through this whole thing but we had problems from beginning till the end. When we stepped into the restaurant, we didn't see anyone so we assumed that we could just step in and take a seat. But one waitress approached and DEMANDED us where to sit depending on whether we want grill or not. We said we don't need the grill but she let us sit on the table with grill anyway. :S Then we had another waitress who got our order but the first waitress came back and again, DEMANDED us to order. We told hear that we have only water bucket here and the waitress said like, ""I was going to give you the glass of water,"" in unacceptable manner. Finally the food bowels came but there was no rice bowls to go with them so we waited another 10 min. I had enough of a patience and went to the kitchen and wanted to see a manager. Then that first waitress came to me and asked 'WHAT DO YOU NEED?"" and yelled at me like ""CAN'T YOU SEE WE HAVE ONLY TWO SERVERS and ARE BUSY??"" We were already pissed off twice, but THAT one was really unexpected. So we decided to leave even without touching any foods there. In addition, we had ??? and ??? as main dishes, both of them looked like they were mixed out of other stuffs that were recycled. I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone and hope that others do not have to go through the same situations like me. more

Half Price? 5/3/2011

My parents wanted to try E Jo because they were looking for a new sushi restaurant in the area and E Jo offers half-off happy hour sushi. Well, its not half off if you just double the prices first! A mediocre veggie roll was $7- I would rather go to Takashi where everything is absolutely divine, and the rolls are less than that full price! The server was nice enough but super slow even though there was no one in the restaurant. There was nothing impressive about the experience- the atmosphere is below average, sushi is average... I would recommend Go Sushi for slow service but better sushi in that area, or even Red Ginger. Of course nothing compares to Takashi but even Naked Fish or Ginza are better than E Jo. I know you keep driving by that ""Half Off Happy Hour"" sign in front of E Jo- just keep driving! more

Great sushi, kind people 4/26/2007

My boyfriend and I went to E Jo's one day on a whim. We passed it, saw the word ""sushi"", and decided to try it out. We're big fans of sushi. Pros: Great prices, specials all the time, good service, amazing sushi Cons: sometimes they're closed at very odd mid-day hours. more

A genuine surprise 9/20/2006

I wanted to try something new and has seen EJo's for about a year and decided to try it. I was really impresed with the lunch menu selection they offered. While I only tried the California Roll that came with the lunch special, I was impressed even with that and will be going back to try more sushi. The waitstaff was friendly and service was prompt. I was seated right away and the food was on my table in no time. Pros: Great food, fast service more

A Sushi Surprise 7/19/2006

I'm a confessed sushi snob. I've not only eaten it from coast to coast in this nation, but ate it regularly while living and working in Japan some years ago. So when I saw the ""Sushi Bar Grand Opening"" sign outside some little ma and pa joint called E Jo, curiosity got the best of me and we went in for a try. Pros: Food, Service Cons: Location? more

A Hidden Treasure 6/2/2006

I'm not sure what restaurant that last reviewer went to, but it wasn't Ejo. Although the service may be a little sporatic, the food is consistently very, very good. We have been there several times for their BBQ, always enjoying the tender pork and assortment of traditional Korean dishes. Being huge sushi fans, we were tentatively excited when Ejo opened their sushi bar. I say tentatively because sushi is so delicate and hard to get right, but Ejo succeded in spades. The sushi chefs are very friendly and extremely talented, the fish was very fresh and the presentation is unparalleled. Ejo is a fabulous, family owned business that deserves your patronage. Pros: Sushi, BBQ Cons: Service more

The food was horrific, the staff sloppy, your bottom will get sore from the chairs and you will suffer a lighter wallet for no good reason. I suggest avoiding this shack. Pros: The Building Design Cons: FOOD, STAFF, SMELL more
