I broke my foot back in 2009 and was sent to Dr. Dyer. The wait times to see him were outrageous - up to 4 hours. He never did anything to try to heal my foot, just told me to stay off of it, may need surgery later. It didn't show any signs of healing within 5 to 6 months. He gave me a bone stimulator, but that did not seem to help. Six months later, after asking two friends in orthopedics who said he should have operated within six weeks of the break, he still would do nothing. I finally gave up and figured it would heal like it was going to heal. Later, the foot was x-rayed by another doctor who suggested either re-breaking the bone and setting it or pin fixation, but I opted for neither. Also, for some reason, his office continues to bill an insurance company that I did not have insurance with at the time, never gave them a card indicating that I did. Just don't understand some doctors. You'd think they would want to treat patients quickly and effectively. Heard from a friend that since I am on state insurance, he makes more money if he does not operate!! more

Dr. Dyer is without a doubt one of the best orthopedists in the southeast! He will only do surgery if absolutely needed and is one of the few doctors left that cares enough NOT to rush you through the office. His waits may sometimes be a little longer, but the quality of care is the best you'll get! He's a Vanderbilt Medical School graduate -he's very well educated and has stayed up to date on the latest prodedures,too. Definitely the best you'll find in Chattanooga! Pros: Well educated, excellent surgeon with great outcomes! Cons: May have some wait - but it's because everyone goes to him! more

Very long waits from 2-4 hours. Mixed information on visit. Held my husband up on his knee surgery for approx 6 months then had him scheduled for surg, then on next visit said he had not mention surgery. more
