I LOVE my hair now! 3/17/2006

I just got back from Portfolio after seeing Sylvia. She's so sweet and very skilled, she knows what she's doing. Before I came here, I couldn't do anything with my hair and now I can style it in a lot of different ways. She taught me how to style it and recommended some products for my hard to manage hair. Go see Silvia! 1/21/2006

I am a young girl who likes to wear my hair very funky with bright colors and creative cuts. I found Silvia through City search and I just fell in love with her. The best part about the experience was she had total control of creative expression with my hair. My hair was so rockin and so original it was the best hair experience that I have had in a long time. Silvia is really down to earth and clam even though the salon is really high energy she focus just on you. Thank you Silvia! You are a true talent! more

Silvia Rocks! 1/19/2006

I moved here from Sacramento in October '05 and was scared silly to go to a new stylist. I requested Silvia based on a few Citysearch reviews and I could not have been happier. My cut lasted a full 6 weeks and she corrected my color from years of processing. Needless to say, I have been a customer since. I trust her completely with my hair. The bonus is that even though the salon is in a hoity toity area, the entire staff is warm and courteous. more

Great Hair Cut!!!! 11/15/2005

I had recently got my hair cut by Silvia. She was fabulous. She was so friendly and warm. She first gave a tour of the salon and explained to me all the product lines they have. Then we sat down and discussed my hair. She asked good questions and really listened to what I had to say. Then she said her input and we decided what to do. And the hair cut was great. Best Hair Cut Ever!!!! 10/2/2005

I had heard about Portfolio from Citysearch. I read all the reviews about Silvia so I booked an appointment to see her. When I walked in I felt taken care of the whole time. Silvia walked up give me a mini tour of the salon and we walked back to her chair. Silvia asked me a lot of questions and at the end made her recommendations. Let me tell you the results were beautiful. I was so happy with the whole experience and the level of professionalism on Silvia's part. Plus she has a great smile...Thanks Portfolio!!! Great Hair! 9/21/2005

I walked in to portfolio today when i was shopping in downtown los gatos, just to see if maybe they had time for a quick trim. They said to come back in 20 minutes, so i did and mariyam took me back. She was so great! She asked me what i wanted and i wasnt sure.. i showed her a picture of something i had in mind and she said i would have to color it to. She had a cancelation so she had time to do everything! i have never been happier with my hair!!! I LOVE MARIYAM! portofolio has a wonderful atmosphere! they made me feel so welcome!! i have found exactly what i was looking for!! Pros: mariyam, atmosphere, friendly people!! Cons: nothing! more

I was very worried when I walked in to Portfolio. I am always scared of change... who isn't? It was time though. So I walked in, just to buy some Bumble and Bumble. A stylist, Lindsey, helped me find what I needed, she was excellent and VERY nice. She had a cancelation so I asked if she had time to give me a haircut. Thank God she did! I have never been happier with my hair in my life! I am so excited to go back and get a weave! The hair cut fits my face and my lifestyle! I have never had so many compliments on my hair in my life! The whole staff at the salon was so welcoming and pleasant! I highly recommend this salon! Pros: atmosphere, staff, attentiveness Cons: parking! more

Precision European Cuts 3/12/2005

Incredible creative talent in cuts and color in a fun and enriching atmosphere. The feeling was like the makeovers that you see on TV. Many recommendtions and the great website with 100's of phots of their work is what drew me to the salon, and then they exceeded my expectations. more

ive been going to portfolio since the first week it was under new ownership (when linda ambler and dustin wallace bought it). i started seeing linda and i just adore her! ive seen pretty much everone in the salon, dustin, chris, silvia, lindsey... they are all amazing and have awesome personalities! everyone is so happy! the front desk is outstanding and always makes me feel so welcome in the salon! if i am having a bad day ill just go to get a shampoo/blowdry and i leave feeling great! I LOVE PORTFOLIO!! more

For a very long time i have been looking for the right salon, and i found it! These people know what they are doing! I had horrible color for the longest time! I thought it was ok, and it was the best my stylist could do-but something told me to try Portfolio. My freind went there and her hair was AMAZING! I saw Lindsey and Silvia and it was AWESOME! Not only did they do a fabulous job on my hair the service was OUTSANDING! I have never felt more welcome in a salon in my whole life! Everyone was sooo happy and nice! It felt great to go a NO COMPITITION salon! I needed to get an updo a few days later and Lindsey was not availible but she was very happy to find that i had chosen another stylist in the salon! I LOVE MY HAIR AND PORTFOLIO!!! more

That's what I have to say about Portfolio! I had a major hair emergency and thank god Portfolio was there to help me out... that was three years ago. If you are in need of hair help, thermal reconditioning, extensions or just a good cut or color - Portfolio can do it. The staff at Portfolio are very knowledgeable and are just a great group of people to be around. Portfolio... you help make the world a more beautiful place!! The BEST Salon EVER!! 11/26/2004

I was so tired of going from one salon to another, trying to find someone to cut my curly hair. Then I FINALLY found Portfolio. What a team! On my first visit I was greeted by the very professional and upbeat front desk staff that gave me a great salon tour and a beverage of my choice and yummy cookies. When I called for the appointment they made me aware that they had different types of stylist, and since Im on a tight budget, I made an appointment with Silvia a Jr. Stylist. Silvia cut my curly hair to perfection! Also, Dustin - the Artistic Director stood by Silvia and made sure she gave me the best cut ever. Now, I will never ever go anywhere else again. The team at Portfolio is amazing! I have been going here for years and continuously receive compliments on my hair. Dustin and Linda are very talented and always seem to find that style and/or color that is just right for your lifestyle and personality. And, their junior stylist program allows even those on a tight budget to treat themselves to a new look. I almost hesitate spreading the word about just how fantastic these guys are! They've truly been my best kept beauty secret! more
