Do NOT Do Not Do NOTTTT use DUMBO!!! \r Your WORST NIGHTMARE WILL come TRUE!!\r \r If you love your furniture and your peace of mind--do not use Dumbo! \r Like another person here--I had used them before and even at that time they scammed me out of $250 more on top of what I paid them-stating that I had 5 extra boxes and the suitcases were heavy etc--when I had specifically told them everything I had! But they were ok--they did damagemy TV console--took the top shelf glass off-and then told me to stick it with Glue, however that didn't work-so that piece was completely damaged even during my first move!\r Unfortunately I had to use them again-as with a short notice I could not get another mover. \r This time I spoke to their rep Tyrone--and told him I was a repeat customer and all they had to do was ""REVERSE"" my order from 6 mnths ago-as I had the same items--infact one or 2 less items (the TV console was gone-courtesy DUMBO DAMAGE!) \r Tyrone saw my last order-said he will reverse the EXACT order and give me a $50 discount for being a repeat customer,,,great I thought...but this was the beginning of a nightmare!\r On the day of the move the guys come in-3 of them and look at the furniture and tell me they have only one mattress set on the order, no suitcases on the order, no L SHAPED desk on the order...WOW! How did that happen--what I had in my hand and what they came with--2 DIFFERENT ORDERS!! Here is where the SCAM starts!\r Yes-they will quote you much less than others-then very conveniently switch orders and get an order with half the stuff! \r I was in shock-I even showed the guy the order from TYRONE on my ipad--he refused to believe anything and said he cannot take half the things--the things that I had a order from Tyrone-with DUMBO's confirmation!!\r I was in disbelief--here i was moving--and here these guys were stranding me! \r Again-I paid them almosy $200 more than what I was quoted and they threw away my box spring for a very expensive mattress set, damaged my very expensive bed, damaged my desk and lost parts to my Cherry wood desk! and then the guy had the nerve to say it was an IKEA desk! My desk is a top of the line Cherry wood very sturdy L SHAPED awesome desk from a top-notch store! \r \r Not only that-they broke several of my very expensive frames that I had bought from Germany! \r Several chinaware was broken,,,,the glass lids of my dishes were shattered!!\r \r These guys were slower than the tortise! They came in at 9 in the morning-and could move a 1 bedroom furniture in 5 hours! I had the elevator reserved in the other high-end building I was moving too and these guys made me miss the slot due to their extremely slow workers..I had to request the guys in the next slot to please let us move our furniture and use the elevator-which luckily they let us as they had just a few pieces to move.\r \r These guys did a HORRID job of re-assembling our furniture! The desk, the Bed--everything was loosely fitted and the bed almost collapsed the next day! \r They damaged the middle support of our great bed and caused us so much mental agony and stress along with the damages!!\r I spoke to their manager-VLADIMIR--who was not at all helpful-and supported his guys...these are amateur foreign students who do the move (the movers themselves told me that) and they want to make a quick buck!\r As a consumer--I don't want this to happen to anyone else and will be taking this a step further to the BBB if Idon't get compensated for rightfully the quote and confirmation I was sent and for them trowing away my items!\r Not only that--even after the move-their sales rep-TYRONE again-called and left a message (which I have saved ) stating that he will give me a great rate for the move (that was completed 2days ago!) This is how DISORGANIZED they are--they are a SCAM! AVOID THEM!\r They will quote you a cheap price--don't be FOOLED--you will LOOSE MUCH MUCH MORE!!! more

I have moved many times over the last twenty years. This is the first time my things were seriously damaged. Nice furniture was scratched, lamp shades torn, china broken. My moving experience with Dumbo Moving + Storage was the worst moving experience of my life. My job was a big one for them and I hired them based on a reputation for care with packing and moving fragile items. The packing was a joke. Just trying to get boxes in the sizes I requested was an ordeal. The ownwer told me that ""that's not a big part of what we do"" - then why do you offer boxes and packing services on your web site? They broke lamps, shattering glass on more than one and smashing (and fracturing) the metal base of another. The side of my toaster oven was even bashed in. Photos available of all damage. My house was moved in two large trucks. The two clowns in the first truck unloaded all the boxes before the furniture and rugs were delivered, leaving the rest of us to try to work the furniture and rugs in and around a maze of cartons. Had those two guys ever done a job bigger than a studio apartment before? It was like hiring your neighbor's not too bright relatives to do the job. Paul offered me $500 off the job which nowhere near covers the damage and aggravation. I would not recommend this company to anyone but especially not for anything more than a very small move. Never saw any paperwork either. I can't help thinking that they must get their friends to write good reviews and post them after my experience. Absolutely horrible. Stay away! more

This was by far the best moving service i have ever had. Previous ones were very aggravating and painful. These guys came in, on time, very quick, efficient, and did the job well. Protected my valuable furniture very well, including my 60 inch tv. All of my furniture was delivered with no scratches or damages. When it comes to price they were also by far the cheapest. Very honest prices were given and at no additional cost they gave me free wardrobe boxes, they protected my TV with cardboard and blankets. I will definitely recommend them to any of my friends and will use them in the future myself. more

Very affordable, friendly, helpful, went above and beyond, prompt, careful, professional--just a great all-around experience! We tried other better-known services like Flat Rate, Shleppers, OZ Moving, Moishes etc. and got much higher quotes on costs. We had to save money because these guys were cheaper, but ""cheaper"" did not mean worse service. They actually provided us with free wardrobe boxes and wrapped our furniture with no additional cost, as opposed to the other moving companies out there with so many hidden charges at the day of the move. Dumbo Movers were awesome and very reasonable. I definitely recommend them for your move. more

A friend of mine recommended them to me. So I called them and Karl helped me out. He was very honest and straightforward. And very nice! He was able to determine the cubic footage of my furniture and belongings over the phone in less then 10 minutes (other companies I inquired with spend on average 20-25 mins!!). He offered me a flat rate price and it was the lowest among all of the quotes I got. Eventually, the crew of Mirzo showed up 15 minutes before the agreed time. Very professional. He went through the paperwork real quick. Explained the procedures. They wrapped all of my furniture. It was the best blanket-n-tape wrapping I have ever seen! They were very nice and very quick. Running up and down the stairs and in 35 minutes after they started there was nothing left in my one bedroom apartment!!! They delivered my belongings in the very same condition they originally took. No damages or losses! They did an amazing job! That is why I am recommending Dumbo Moving for everyone! Ask for Karl, he will give you the best possible deal! Dumbo just finished up my move today and I had to write a review. With their help, this was by far the easiest, most straight forward move I have ever had in NYC. From the initial estimate, which Danny talked through with me thoroughly, to the movers arriving exactly on time this morning, it was all almost too easy! And I honestly can't say enough about the movers themselves. Rasha, Pedja, and Marko were just fantastic, taking extreme care of all our furniture and personal possessions. And this is even more impressive when you take into consideration that we were moving out of a sixth story walk-up! The three of them came up and down those stairs more times than I can count, yet never complained and managed to have the entire move done in no time at all. I can't recommend Dumbo Moving enough. They were by far the cheapest estimate we received from any NYC movers and I can't imagine anyone else excelling their amazing service. Thanks, Dumbo! more

Great from start to finish. I was really pleased with this company. Every step of the process was handled well. I had a long distance move to CA. The phone Contact person was great. He was knowledgeable, helpful and very patient. The packers did a great job. They were accommodating especially with my schedule. They went out of their way to assist me. They were polite, professional and pleasant. They did great job packing, not one thing was broken. The long distance driver was great. I had two stops. NO problem. He contacted me ahead of time to let me know when he would arrive. I thought something was lost. IT WAS NOT. The dispatcher Vladimir was amazing. He was so helpful AND polite. He called me several times to help me locate the item which was in a numbered box, I overlooked it as it was in the bottom covered safely with lots of paper. I would use them again in a minute. I highly recommend this business. PS I am very particular and not always easy to deal with. I had NO problems with them at any step of the process. I was nervous about using a small company. They renewed my faith in small business. This is a great company. more

i just moved from yonkers to the city. the flat rate price is why i chose dumbo instead of others. they guaranteed there would be no change in the price in case of any delays. i knew there will be problems with traffic jams and parking on the streets because of the snowstorms... so, eventually it took them long time to cross the bridge and find a parking spot as close as possible to my new address building. the delivery was delayed for about 4 hours. i know for sure i would have been charged for that a lot should i have used companies which charge by hour... besides, great customer service, no hidden fees and great very careful workers... thank you dumbo! i will recommend you guys to my friends! more

i am very pleased with how they handled my furniture.. i have very expensive, all-glass top furniture in the living room, and an antique china cabinet... left from my granny... guys from dumbo took a real good care for a relatively cheap price!!!! great company! great service!! recommend!!! more

I received a great quote from salesman misha, one of the cheapest of all i got from others. Was worried about the quality of the service, but due to the crisis in my pocket and dumbo's positive reviews did choose them. guys were very good... very careful and very friendly and very professional... protected my furniture with blankets and shrink wrap.. did a quick job (it only took them 3.5 hours to move a one-bedroom apt from the city to brooklyn)... if i have to move again, i will go with dumbo moving!!! and recommend it to you guys... :)) more

My last local relocation with this moving company was the best move out of 3 so far. Nothing but good things to say about their staff and customer service. Had them come in and pack my apartment and it was just done with absolute care. Delivery was very prompt and all in all a very smooth and stress free experience. I am considering them to be local movers my company can utilize for corporate relocation. The price was unbeatable I mean they can beat any rates, great price for the move indeed. Their staff is experienced You can see it and the communication with their customer service was easy and helpful. I used these guys last week. Was soooo worried as i heard a lot about how bad can the experience with moving companies be. But Dumbo moving totally changed my opinion regarding that. Two guys Mirza and Bauer were so friendly and very careful with my stuff. They did a great quick job! I just had to do what I was told to: ""Sit back and relax!"" I have been using a moving company services for several years now. The year of 2011 started with another move on January 22. I decided to check on Dumbo Moving and Storage for this time because of the overall positive review about it on the net. From the very beginning Danny (the sales representative) was very nice and outstanding customer service providing me with a very catchy quote (I was saving around $175 comparing to the quotes of other moving companies in NYC). He has been following up before and after the actual move via telephone and email with me. Thus, on Saturday morning the crew of three men showed up 15 minutes earlier than scheduled for. That was a surprise for me because usually I was receiving calls about the delays prior to the start of the job. Those guys took a good care of my furniture. Wrapped it all properly and used a clear plastic wrap for the mattress instead of the regular blankets. It took them around three hours to perform the whole job from the time showing up at my door till unwrapping the last piece of the furniture. Faster then it was estimated for. Well, no wonder, because they do not work for the hourly rate but for a guaranteed flat rate. Works out to be very efficient for both parties me and the movers. I am very satisfied with Dumbo moving and do recommend this company for my friends and everyone. And will definitely use them again next year. Karatay. more

I was so stressed out being a single woman living on her own with no man, brothers or friends to help move my items from my apartment in queens to my new place in Manhattan. And to top it all off I had a low budget, every company i called was either charging by the hour or their prices were very unreasonable. I called Dumbo moving and spoke with a very professional and compassionate Representative who helped me plan my move and provided me with a very affordable and reasonable price. And on the day of my move the crew arrived promptly and moved my items quickly and carefully. They were VERY RESPECTFUL. I was very satisfied with their services and will use them again in an instant, hey perhaps I will move again just for their services lol. WOW!! I was truly impress with these guys! The price quote was within my budget and they fact that they went above and beyond in helping me move during the week of the blizzard of 2010 too!! Milan and his crew were quick and diligent about their task. With the exception of a few scuffs on some of my furniture (which is to be expected with a move), I was extremely happy with the out come! When hiring a moving company for my move from Brooklyn to Manhattan I was a bit scared. I had a previous move a couple of years back with another moving company and it had gone terribly wrong. So when I had to make this move I was not looking for it at all. I received many quotes from many other moving companies and finally went with Dumbo Moving. My sales person was extremely polite and patient. She assured me that my move will be stress free and that the movers knew exactly what they were doing and you know what, she was right! The day of the move the crew was very well mannered, professional and polite. They took their time with my items assuring that everything was properly wrapped before moving it. And I am glad to say that all my things arrived to my new apartment in excellent condition. I highly recommend them to those who want a stress free move, great customer service and oh I can't forget the very reasonable price!!!!! more
