What a great experience! I had to learn the hard way that Moving in NYC is hellish. I moved three times before I found dumbo moving and all three times i had to buy new furniture after the move because my stuff was scratched, damaged and some times destroyed. This time my moving experience was nothing less than fun. My movers were amazing: professional, courteous, but also friendly and accommodating. Their office staff was knowledgeable and very accessible. This was the easiest moving experience i have ever had. more

Amazing movers! I had a very pleasant time interacting with the sales representative Bauer and customer service rep (unfortunately do not remember his name), and more importantly with the moving crew! We had an issue with my sofa not fitting through the door, but movers handled this issue with utmost professionalism - they disassembled it at my old place and put it together at my new place at no cost to me. Overall it was a great pleasure working with Dumbo. more

Flawless moving experience! My crew arrived early in the morning, compared the inventory they had with the actual furniture and boxes, walked me through the process, and started working. All three men did their best - they wrapped all pieces of furniture with blankets so nothing got damaged or even scratched. The move went very fast, it only took them three hours to completely move me to my new place. Great job guys! more

These guys are absolutely amazing! Their prices are the lowest in the city and their service is top notch. Their office staff was very professional in handling all my requests and the movers were just as good. I had to change my move date and inventory multiple times and my sales rep was patient with all those changes. On the day of the move, they went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. This is the customer service you never expect from movers. The guys were extremely polite and careful, and I literally sat and did nothing while they were running up and down the stairs with my boxes and furniture. Their customer service rep called me multiple times throughout the day: in the morning to let me know the crew is on the way, in my old place to make sure the pick up was going well, and an hour after the move was complete to make sure I was happy with the movers. I sure was! Dumbo Moving was a great surprise and I will definitely call them next time I need to move. more

I used Dumbo to move to Astoria last Friday. They came recommended by a friend who moved with them several times. I am very satisfied with their service. The office staff is knowledgeable and accessible. I was able to speak with my representative (Karl) every time I called. The moving crew, George, Chris, and one more gentleman, were polite and very careful with my furniture which I appreciated a lot. Overall, I am happy I found Dumbo, will be using them for my future moves. more

great service!. i am very pleased with how they handled my furniture.. i have very expensive, all-glass top furniture in the living room, and an antique china cabinet...that was giving to me from my granny... was moving from brooklyn.to seattle. These guys made great time. I was really impressed that they showed up when they promised with no issues at all. I've used Dumbo movers on two moves and was equally pleased both times. At the last minute, the company agreed to move me from a loft in Gowanus to a small one bedroom in Park Slope. This loft was up two flights of very steep stairs. They moved a piano, other musical equipment, and all of my furniture with expert care. The first time was a few years earlier when they moved me all the way from the UWS back down to Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Again showing incredible professionalism delicacy with my most valuable things, and even let me ride in their truck with them. To my friends I'm known as the wandering gypsy, often moving apartments, every three months. Considering this, I've used all kinds of professional moving services but never have I had such a good experience as I did with Dumbo moving. A few months back I found this lovely gem of an apartment in Bed Stuy in a very old, turn of the century building with no working elevator. It was a steep walk up with 6 floors and these guys were the best, moving everything in under one hour, including all of my antique furniture! No scratches, nothing missing, no problems. Total anomaly among NYC moving companies. I highly suggest them and if you can try to have Dalibor as one of your movers, very sweet and efficient more

They destroyed my 50"" plasma and my home theater system. Before the job they claimed not to offer any insurance then told me they wont pay out more than a fraction of the price as I didn't opt into the insurance.\r \r A few other small items were broken which leads me to believe they do not treat their customers possession with any care.\r \r I thought movers from dumbo would be extra smart to enforce the irony of the name but unfortunately the name is well deserved and has nothing to do with their location.\r \r Avoid! more

I've been meaning to write this review for awhile. I used Dumbo a year ago to move from my second floor walkup apartment in Midtown to a fifth floor walkup apartment in New Jersey. I got the cheapest quote from Dumbo--they were several hundred dollars under any other moving company. The movers arrived on time and were very courteous and fast. They took good care of the furniture to make sure it wouldn't get scratched and they were in and out in no time. I was impressed by the finesse and skill with which they worked, especially considering that they had to scale several floors with heavy boxes and furniture. As it's been awhile, I no longer remember the mover's name, but my experience with Dumbo was perfect and I wholeheartedly recommend them. They were superb. more

HUGE HUGE mistake choosing this company!!!!! Had to last minute cancel the job and move myself along with 2 friends with a rented UHAUL at 8pm at night out of state because this crew that showed up 40 minutes late was rude and just very inconsiderate. I first couldn't believe after they called stating that would most likely be an hour late I later got a text (how unprofessional!!!!!) that they got pulled over by the cops!!! After that they arrived a half hour later and started knit picking and charging extra for unneccessary things. The Foreman was a jerk and was sooooo not experience with dealing with a customer it was a joke!!!! He was rude!!!! After arriving late he circled the apartment; taking his time.... then called his supervisor to tell him I had things there that was not on the list. Mind you the items he mentioned I wasn't taking; they didn't have to move them. But since he never asked me and didn't know how to speak to me he wasted so much more time. The person who set up the estimate never told me details on how they charge for boxes within the move. Never mentioned large boxes were one price vs medium. After an ongoing headache of questions....disagreements....and wasteful procrastination I had to send them away!!!!!! what a HUGE mistake choosing DUMBO!!!! The name says it all.....DUMMMM...Bo!!!!!!! Really shld've went with another company!!!!!!!!! UGH!!!!! Lesson learned! They made my moving day a nightmare!\r more

I used Dumbo to move from an apartment in NYC to a new one in a different neighborhood. When I called to get a price quote, they matched the lowest price I had gotten from a competitor. On the day of the move they arrived right on time, were very friendly and even more efficient. They came equipped with all the proper tools and were very careful with my belongings. They even agreed to take an extra piece when I realized I forgot to add it to the list when I made my reservation. The whole process took less than 3 hours. You can't ask for nicer guys, I tipped them well - they totally deserved it. more

I was fortunate to use this company. I got six different quotes for packing and moving. The DUMBO quote was the most fair and reasonable, which was only outdone by the professional efficiency of the DUMBO four man crew on moving day. It felt good to feel, and then know from experience, the movers had a real inkling to what they were doing: expert, quick, packing all breakables with care and thought. I am a professional critic. These guys, DUMBO, estimator to office staff to crew are among the best I have worked with, and I ought to know. I move a lot, both here and abroad. Will use DUMBO again, for sure. more
