Duke Manor

This is the most horrible place. I unfortunately have leased the apartment online and the first day I arrived there were roaches. I told the leasing office about the roaches and they sent the exterminator who never was successful in getting rid of the roaches. I had to get rid of all my furniture when I moved out because the roaches have infested everything.\r The property manager is not a nice person at all. \r When it comes to safety, there was always police cars investigation the murders that were happening there. \r You can easily find firearm bullets in the area all the time while walking. Also snakes in the grass areas.\r \r The buildings are very old and there is plumping problems all the time. Also the kitchen appliances are very old and consume lots of electricity, so your electricity bill will be always over $70.\r I have reported maintenance problems many times even to the property manager and I never got a response back.\r \r Some of the staff are very nice but most of them are not more

Even though it is cheaper but the bills you pay because of their poor construction are higher so another more expensive apartment complex will be cheaper if you add the bills of power and water.\r \r They have no washers or dryers. Their laundry matt is horrible and it charged me more than once because of the poor design.\r \r They take very high deposit money for pets compared to other newer complexes and the money is not refundable. Also you have to pay monthly rent for the pets.\r \r I have also noticed that they come to your apartment when you are absent without asking for your permission which is not accepted and not mentioned in the lease.\r \r When I moved out they sent me huge bill of damages that were already there when I moved. And I had no option except paying.\r \r It was seriously a nightmare and I am really HAPPY I got out. more

This property does not deserve a star!!!! My boyfriend and I moved to this property in sept. of 09 in to a one bedrm that's when i found out that we were expecting our son.. Every thing was good untill we renewed our lease and transferd to a 2brm lrg we were told that there were no ROACHES there were just ""COMMON OUTSIDE BUGS"" But just after a week of moving there we were having a war with ROACHES!!!! I was so angry!!! I went to the leasing office and Asked them did the put they were INFESTED with ROACHES on the internet or in the APT guide? they replied no I asked them why?? they tried to act as if they were not aware of this situation!!!!! Even the apt manager acted as if this was a Normal way of living!!! I asked her if she have ROACHES in her home she replied no! I asked her what makes her think I am okay with this??? She said oh im sorry I will send some one to bate your apartment and i will send a exterminator to treat your apt!!!!!! Okay u know what I still have ROACHES!!!! My rent is $622.00 a month.. Am I paying for the ROACHES AS WELL????? Plus I bought a new car and my 30 day tags were stolen off of my car!!!! Are u kidding me??? Once again I went to the office and complained and i was ignored!!!! This place is terrible I would think twice before renting here!!!!! Save your self the headache DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS RAT HOLE!!!!!! Just as soon as my lease ends Im packing my family up and getting the hell away from here!!! more

My boyfriend and I have live here for 5 months and have just renew my lease for 12 month. I think it is a good place to live in with low price.\r About the safty and clean condition, you can see my experice below.\r When we were seeking for a place to live 5 months ago. We even would not considering about Duke manor due to the bad review. I find someone sublet her apartment in 3011 Pratt street, I search the address in goole map and find it is a great place for us who study in Duke university. So we went to check the apartment and find it is Duke manor. This changed my mind about it, it is very convineice to school it you choose the building near Douglas Street and the place is kept very clean by the woman who is a nurse and has live there for nearly two yeas by herself. She move out because she had buy a new house. \r So about that someone says it is dirty, I have to say it depends on who live there, the outside is the same as other place. And about the safty, I think no place is safe to more

This use to be a nice apartment complex but it is over run now with illegal immigrants. This is not a good place for children because they have no where to play. more
