THE BEST!!! 8/26/2011

Great experience, great clothes and a definite stop the next time I will be in Portland again. They have very unique and classy womens clothes. And, DEFINITLY the cutest baby clothes I have ever seen. Seriously! Thank you Duck Duck Goose...see you again soon! more

tragic customer service 8/3/2011

i wasn't worth the clerks's time in this shop. they didn't look at me or say hello. then when i had a question, i was treated like a huge pain. i looked at several items that were so cute - but horribly over priced. i am totally willing to pay for ultra cute items - but not if i'm treated like garbage. i realize that we're on nw 23rd - but it's not saks 5th ave. get over yourselves! more

Almost the worst store 7/14/2011

Debbie is rude, snooty and ignorant. I don't consider gossip and Making negative comments about people appropriate behavior while shopping at a children's store. Walmart has a lot better service and kind people. more

Such a Sweet Store! 11/25/2008

This is the sweetest Children's store! They really go out of their way to make you feel special. I love all of the items I have purchased and received from Duck Duck Goose. The owner's are also really nice and they make sure that if they don't have what you need that they will find it. It's just like having a personal shopper... Thanks Ladies! Pros: Customer Service and Sweet Employee's more

Best Children's Store in Portland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8/14/2008

I have to start out by saying that this is such a GREAT store! I love the selection that they offer! Especially when shopping for a boy. They have unique items that you can't find anywhere else in Portland. \r I completely disagree with the previous reviewers'...All of the employees that have helped me at Duck Duck Goose have always been sweet and very helpful. Sometimes people set such high expectations on how THEY should be treated that maybe they should get off their high horse. I find it totally offensive that someone finds it neccessary to bash a store over their own insecurities...check out the other reviews left by gogogogogogogogo. WOW! Such an angry and unhappy person! Duck Duck Goose is awesome....go check it out! Pros: Selection and Adorable Gifts more

Rude, over-priced 8/8/2008

The last user couldn't have said it better. I also am from NYC and this place has severe attitude. They don't sell anything that you can't buy somewhere else. So...go somewhere else. more

Snooty service 8/3/2008

Talk about snooty salespeople. I am from NY and stopped by to shop while strolling down 23rd Avenue. The two ladies in the store were so rude and I had every intention of buying a lot of items in the store, that I left in about 10 minutes. It would not hurt you two ladies to smile once in a while and say hello when someone walks in the door. They look at you like you are going to steal something if you seem to be taking to long looking at the merchandise in the store.\r I will definately tell my friends when they visit Portland, not to bother going to DDG on 23rd Avenue. more

Heirloom-quality children's items 5/18/2008

This shop is filled with high-quality, lovely baby and children's items. It's the perfect store to find a special gift if you feel like spoiling a child you know. The merchandise is all beautifully designed and constructed, so you would expect the prices to be higher than a Walmart. Ignore the criticism of some of the previous critics. Anybody who can't spell ""catty"" should do their shopping at Babies R Us. I have never met the owner, but instead of criticizing someone's appearance, I'll take the space to praise the lovely items sold in this shop. Portland is big enough to sustain a store of beautiful children's items. We shouldn't have to fly to Seattle or San Francisco to find unique, heirloom-quality clothing for babies and little ones. I love this shop. Pros: best quality in town. Well-made clothing. more

High-end clothing, Service has improved! 2/23/2008

If you're on a budget this store is not for you! High-end clothing, high-end prices! I have been in the Goose several times and the service seems to have improved a great deal. If you're looking for custom made girls Euro clothing, try ""It's Sew Adorable"" in Hillsboro. It's not a brick and mortar store but I'm sure you can find her on-line. Pros: Nice selection Cons: Too Glitzy more

Wonderful Experience at the Goose 6/15/2007

I have purchased one cd and two Petit Bateau bodies for my future niece, and my experience was a pleasant one. Indeed, one of the owners asked me if I was doing fine finding the items I was looking for. During the transaction, we talked about France, my native country.\r Also, my ex-husband bought many clothes for his daughter and his son. He was always well treated by the staff. Enjoyable experience at all times and an artistic decor! Pros: Large selection of brands both local and foreign Cons: High prices when not on sale more

Upscale children's clothing 2/16/2007

I love visiting the Goose when I'm shopping on NW 23rd. They carry all the French brands that you can't find at other places. Upon reading the citysearch reviews there are some pretty bad ones for Goose. I think I know what the problem is. Okay, here it is ladies: don't go into this store if you don't have a disposable income. It's expensive and if you can't afford to buy anything or have to return it once you buy it, it isn't their problem. And though I didn't see any leopard prints when I was in there I did see a $70 onesie, which I bought. So if you don't want to be around rich snobs then stay out of the Goose. more

Great for gifts and special occasions 2/15/2007

The staff has always been completely helpful and attentive. They will even go around the store and bring any items that might fit your needs directly to you. They always take the time to make sure my purchase is just right and they are patient and kind to my children when I bring them with me. It is a higher end shop, so it is understandable that most people wouldn't buy their children's entire wardrobes there, but it is perfect for gifts and outfits for special occasions like weddings, holidays and pictures. There really is something for everyone in this shop. I think some people may mistake high-end prices and employees who are helpful instead of pushy as snobby but those people would be making a big mistake and missing out on a wonderful shopping experience. Also, the return policy is very clear and not at all unusual for a small boutique: sale items are final and all other purchases can be returned for exchange or store credit (which is good for one year). I think the receipt states 14 days to return an item, but in my experience this has always been reasonably flexable and as long as the item has not been sold out then it can be returned (if it has been marked down and the purchase was made some time ago, you may only get the sale price, but that is still more flexable than a lot of other retailers). Pros: selection, service, quality of merchandise more

To Colby 2/15/2007

All I have to say is you must lead a very sad and meaningless life if you have nothing better to do than go on-line and write mean and nasty comments about other people. I hope you don't teach your children to behave that way. As for my experience at Duck Duck Goose I have never encountered anything but friendly and helpful service. Pros: Friendly people more

worst store ever 2/1/2007

Don't buy anything if there is a 1% chance that you might have to return it. They don't allow returns unless you bought it for full price and bring it back within one week. And if you do get to return it, all you get is a store credit. Good luck. I own a small business in the pearl district and I would never treat my customers how I was treated at this shop. I bought $250 worth of unreturnable merchandise. I'll be selling it on ebay. Thanks Duck Duck Goose!!! Pros: none Cons: no parking, rude service, no returns more

Great Selection 10/12/2006

I have been into this shop several times. It has the traditional LeTop with highlights of Due par Deux, Cakewalk etc. A great choice for shopping in the city or for upper level needs like party dresses. In the burbs for average clothes it may not be worth the drive. Yes the staff is a little reserved, but due to their location they get a lot of browsers... Once you get their attention they are very attentive. Pros: Great Selection especially for party dresses, etc. Cons: Not worth the trip from the burbs more

Nifty clothing with a snooty attitude 6/23/2006

Okay, this store has LOVELY clothes, if a bit predictable in its choice of brands (lotsa ""granny bait"" type outfits, nothing terribly edgy, unfortunately)... We have stopped by on several occassions, sometimes just to look, other times to purchase, and have encountered the whole look-you-up-and-down demeanor that just doesn't meld with my conception of premium customer service. Call me crazy, but I'm not wild about judgmental glances from random ten-bucks-an-hour shop clerks. Portland definitely is beggin' for some competition in the higher-end kids clothes market. For now, I'll stick to shopping online boutiques for Euro kids clothes: better selection, better service, better experience. Ciao! Pros: Some Nifty Brands Cons: Predictably "cute" stuff, no edge: generalized attitude of arrogance more

Best by Far 4/15/2006

Best in town for Childrens clothes. I went in for a gift, and found a great variety and selection of unique childrens clothes, accesseries and gifts. Helpful and curtious staff, I will be returing. This shop is a must !! Pros: Location, Selection, Staff Cons: parking more

The Best Childrens Store EVER!!!! 4/4/2006

I love this store! They have the best selection of any store in Portland. I went in looking for Easter Outfits for my baby boy and 3 year old girl and found the sweetest coordinating outfits! I looked everywhere and it was only at Duck Duck Goose that I had so much to choose from! Not only did I leave with Easter Outfits I found so many other things I just HAD to HAVE :). It is so nice to see a store that has so many CUTE things for BOYS. The girl that helped me was so nice and understanding...even when my little girl was having a MAJOR 3 year old moment. The store owners were also very friendly and really made my shopping experience fun. I can't wait to go back again. Pros: Customer Service, Selection, Boys Clothing more

Wonderful store! 12/29/2005

I'm surprised at the previous reviewer's comments. My daughter and I found the staff at Duck Duck Goose extremely helpful and professional (and it wasn't because of how we were dressed). Not only did we find the employees thoughtful and attentive, but the clothes were spectacular...so many darling, incredible outfits...we were amazed! We were looking for both a baby boy and young girl outfit and felt both genders were well covered with the various lines they carry. We will definately be back and plan to pass the word about this wonderful store. more

Snooty ignorant staff 11/11/2005

Here is a word to the staff at Duck Duck Goose. Some people have the cash to buy ALL the clothes in your store, but come in dressed in jeans and a tee shirt. You need to treat all customers as if they are valued and deserving of your time. You have lost several customers to your snooty ignorant staff, and I would rather shop anywhere than set foot in your store again. Try reading a few business models about how to treat customers...Imagine how well you would do if you treated ALL customers well. Smile, say hello be pleasant and helpful...and try...I know its a stretch to be pleasant to everyone. By the way..we know that the positive reviews are from your staff... change your attitude instead of faking positive comments. Pros: brands Cons: , Not helpful more
