**Important note***! The Everett Dream Dinners will be moving to Mill Creek.
Dream Dinners are my favourite cooking innovation since sliced bread!
You can sign up on the web-site as little as 24 hours in advance for a cooking session. You pre-request the meals you want to make at that session, and pre-pay (debit or credit).
The menu varies each month. Some of my favourites so far have been chicken parmesan, dill shrimp, and pork with hot apple topping.
I have found that some of the meals are a little salty for my taste, but I believe that could be easily adjusted if I made those particular meals in future.
The cost varies depending on the meals you order, but averages $120 for 6 meals or $200 for 12. Each meal serves 4-6 people or you can split them into 2-3 serving portions. This works out to about $4-5 per portion!
When you arrive for your session, you get an apron to put over your clothes, and the staff is available to help if you have questions. There are stations set up for each of that session's meals. Each station has instructions, pre-cut ingredients, and measuring tools all laid out. You simply assemble your meals, put them into the zip-lock bags or tinfoil containers provided, put on a pre-printed label with instructions and serving suggestions, and take them home to freeze them. (You'll probably want to bring a cooler for transport.)
I especially love the fact that all the clean-up is done for you. I come home to a clean kitchen!
Bottled water, samples of one of that month's meals, Top-40-style music, and conversation with other patrons make the time go quickly. I'm usually able to assemble my 6 meals (36 servings) in about 2 hrs.
