Great food! Great price! The sushi is great and so is everything else. You get a lot of food. The Pad Tai is my favorite!!! Pros: Best Tad Pai

What happened to good customer service?! 8/17/2011

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! I had have been to Dragon Bowl many times prior to the remodel and change from ordering at the counter to a sit down restaurant. They were known for good food, at a good value and you didnt have to worry about bad service. Fast forward to today, were the food is still good, but prices have gone up and service has gone down, way DOWN. more

Love it!!! 6/15/2010

Love love love dragon Bowl! My favorite thing about this place is that the staff is so helpful. I am a healthy eater and they always give me great suggestions on what to order. I go almost once a week and will keep coming back! Pros: Great prices and Healthy Dining, Helpful Staff more

Amazing food, great staff, perfect atmosphere... Excellent all around 3/7/2009

My best friend and I eat here regularly (though he makes it there more than me, since he's lucky enough to live super close). Admittedly, it wasn't until my 2nd or 3rd visit to DB that I realized just how much I love this place. The prices are excellent, and I've yet to be disappointed. Favourites of mine include: Bul Gogi--AMAZING beef served with rice and a few mixed veggies (I usually pay $1 more for extra veggies). Super Udon Bowl--You can do a BYOB for $9, and pay $1 extra for udon noodles, or you can just get this (Currently $9). Udon noodles are mixed with Tofu (nice and firm-my fave kind), Shrimp, Egg, and copius veggies, served in a delicious, slightly spicy sauce. Ask for some Sambal Chili sauce to spice it up even more. Build Your Own Bowl (BYOB)--Pick out white or brown rice, or vermicelli, singapore, or thai noodles (udon noodles for an extra $1) wok'd up with your choice of protein, vegetables, and sauce. All the sauces are delicious in their own right, so don't hesitate to try them all. Their sushi chef is just plain amazing. I'm super picky when it comes to sushi, and I told Kevin this. That having been said, he's never made anything I couldn't just RAVE about. Everything on his bar is super fresh (just like the rest of the food in the restaurant), and nothing is ever too fishy. The guys are just perfect, too. They're super fast, incredibly friendly, and very knowledgeable. In short, this place is wonderful; just give it a try or seven. Pros: Delicious food, staff, and sake. more

Fantastic Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Singaporian, Mongolian) Food 2/1/2009

We have driven past Dragon Bowl for several months thinking it was just another lame fast food Asian restaurant. I am so thrilled to know we were wrong! The food is some of the best I have ever eaten. We left in some food daze nirvana wishing we had more room in our tummies to eat more! Pros: The food, ample parking, great location, fantastic beer selection, nicest employees more

Great All Around 11/3/2008

These guys at Dragon Bowl are just great. Not only is their food great- ESPECIALLY for picky eaters like myself- the Build your own bowl is perfect for me [no veggies that I don't like- just the ones I love!]. Pros: Great food, caters to picky eaters, really wonderful and kind management and staff Cons: Can't think of one. more

Pros: good food, great service Cons: none that i can think of! more

got off to a slow start but got WAY better QUICKLY! 4/8/2008

my first two visits here were similar to the other reviews. it was bland and generally pretty blah - HOWEVER. it now seems that they've sorted out whatever was awry. ive been 4 or 5 times times in the last few weeks and its been great each time! not ""change your life"" great. but very much more than decent. Pros: convenience, friendly staff, food, wide beer selection more

cool concept, poor execution 3/18/2008

Been to Dragon bowl twice. It attempts to offer a refreshing take on familiar Asian dishes. On both visits the staff was very helpfull and friendly. The food, on the other hand, looked good but was void of any flavor. The dishes we ordered tasted exactly the same even though one was a garlic ginger base and the other a chili. I give them an A for effort, but a D for execution. Pros: cool concept Cons: flavor of food more

Save your money or go elsewhere. 2/14/2008

Terrible. The food had NO flavor! Will never return to this place. A total rip-off. The food tasted like it was microwaved except that it wasn't. Steer clear. There are much better places in the area. Our neighbors had a similiar distaste for the cuisine served here. Not good. Cons: the food has no flavor. strip mall asian food at its worst. more

Feels like home, but the cooking's better! 7/12/2007

I discovered Dragon Bowl when I first moved to Houston from New York 7 months ago. I remember sitting alone in the corner the first time I was there, enjoying the last bit of the delicious salmon with ginger garlic sauce, when the chef invited me up to the bar and offers me a drink and lively conversation. Everyone there made me feel so at home (even though I was really a fish out of water in this town) that I've been a regular ever since. more

yummy, try the thai basil sauce on your bowl 5/7/2007

great food, service, feels upscale even though there are no waiters. kitchen is open and cooks interact with customers. so glad that i moved to this neighborhood and drove by yesterday and saw the masses there! Pros: food, service, ambience Cons: did not experience any more

Excellent Chinese / Asian Fusion 2/17/2007

One of the best best Chinese / Asian fusion restaurants I've been to in Houston. The food is tasty, healthy, service was good, and the place is quaint. Great value. You have to order by yourself and there is no waiter/waitress service. You may or may not consider that a drawback. I'll be coming back! more

awful, don't eat here unless you want to keep tasting bad food for several days 2/11/2007

this place opened months after it was supposed to and we were highly anticipating the grand opening because it looked like it could be a new place for us to eat in our neighborhood. unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations. the food was really bad and it actually made me sick for several days. we have never gone back and never will. Cons: food more

Great food, Price is right, Very comfortable atmosphere 1/23/2007

What a great place to descend on the Heights. The food is great and inexpensive. The menu is simple, but that's a good thing. They don't try to be overly ambitious so everything they serve is done right. I especially like the 'Bulkogi'. It's marinated beef skewers with carmelized onions and rice with a little bit of hot sauce which offsets the slightly sweet flavor of the meat. It's a casual place that is comfortable and pleasant. The decor is soothing and there is a huge fish aquarium on one wall. They also have a great selection of bottled beer along with wine and sake. The owner, Ken, will take care of you also. I also recommend sitting at the counter where all the action takes place. You never know when you might a free sample! Or as Ken calls it, ""a hook-up."" Check this place out. You will be glad you did. Pros: Affordable, Excellent food, Casual environment Cons: No kung-fu movies more

Slow!! 9/24/2006

When I visited it took over 30 minutes to get a take-out order and the rice was long grain....not the short grained sticky variety most asian restaurants serve. Also, ordered the sesame beef and there was no sesame to be found....not sure how that happened. Pros: Convenient location Cons: SLOW!!!! Food not exactly as described more
