As someone prone to ""throwing out their back"", I asked a friend if she would refer me to her chiropractor? She said emphatically ""YES"". So, that is how I started seeing Dr. Tom several years ago. Instead of getting me on a program of regularly coming in for adjustments and a slew of treatments I couldn't afford, he explained WHY I kept throwing my back out, taught me excercises to counteract my problems at the time (weak butt, ha.) and things got better! Flash forward a couple years, two days before my out of town wedding reception I threw my back out jumping off a hydraulic lift at work. Excruciating pain. The sort of pain you call your Mom ""Mommy"", and ask her to drive you to the doctor. Awful! I called, choked up, he got me right in, worked on my back, helped me figure out how to situate myself in the car for 5 1/2 hours while we drove to Michigan the next day - and I wasn't miserable for my wedding reception. He also kept up with what I did for a living, realized that my needs changed and explained different excercises for me work on now.
Pros: right off the EL (when the Diversey stop is open), not hard to get an appt.
Cons: they aren't on my insurance list, but that's not their fault
