The Best!!!!!!! 3/31/2009

Dr. Scott Belsley is an amazing Physician. Recently, I had an abdominal hernia utilizing laparoscopic robotic surgery (his specialty). Today is 11 days post surgery: I feel great!! I walked home the same day - right after the operation. Followed Doctor?s Orders: took it very easy - walking now and then to help, not stress recovery. Dr Scott Belsley operated leaving no scars. He thinks like Michelangelo and is a Doctor Superstar. I called him the Rock Star of Surgeons!!! I?m very grateful to him, and to all the members of his great medical team, who worked helping him on my surgery. Dr. Scott Belsley inspires strong sure confidence from both experience and exceptional wisdom. He is the Doctor to see if you need hernia repair. Pros: Excellent Surgeon!! more

Thank heavens for Dr. Belsley 7/11/2007

When I needed surgery after my appendix ruptured, an MD that shall remain nameless, told me he was ""familiar with the laproscopic process but more confident with open incision operations, the kind that remained open in order to drain and so forth"" this detered me from following up with its removal. Dreading my future, Dr. Scott Belsley was recommended to me for laproscopic surgery . I feel I was truly blessed by this recommendation. From the moment I met Dr. Scott Belsley for consultation, he inspired confidence and was very reassuring. I thought my research had prepared me for what I might expect, namely dimple like scars across my abdomen. However, Dr. Belsley was very careful and I am happy say I will have no problem wearing my bikini on the beach! Dr Belsley informed me that there were signs of infection on what remained of my appendix which he removed. This could have been ""recurring appendicitis"". I thank God for Dr Scott Belsley and definitely recommend him. more

If you must have surgery...... 7/8/2007

In February I was taken to Roosevelt Hospital's Emergency Room with extreme abdominal pains. Within 8 hours I was having surgery for a perforated colon. The surgeon was Dr. Scott Belsley, who was calm and reassuring and I felt immediately that I was in good hands. It was a difficult surgery (as my abdomen was already toxic) and he performed it with incredible skill. I consider myself very lucky that Dr. Belsley was on duty that night. Throughout my lengthy recovery, Dr. Belsley was always available with advice and reassurance. Recently I underwent a second operation to reconnect my colon. This time Dr. Belsely was able to perform the surgery laparoscopically (this is his specialty) and this made a big difference to my recovery, which has been amazingly quick and free of complications. Laparoscopy Pro 6/20/2007

For my first surgery as an adult I lucked out when I was referred to Dr. Scott Belsley. Young and tech-savvy, he is skilled in minimally invasive surgery techniques. It's three weeks later and my four incisions from laparoscopic gall bladder removal are all but vanished. I never once took a painkiller, just some ibuprofen for anesthesia side effects. I was up and about from day one afterward. Dr. Belsley's hospital, St Luke's Roosevelt, has a terrific staff and facilities. The nurses are all old school competent and personable. There are other hospitals in this city with bigger reputations that are not half as pleasant. I was in good hands all the way around. I highly recommend Dr. Belsley and his hospital. more

Exceptional Skill 6/9/2007

I had a hernia that had recurred twice after two previous repair attempts by one surgeon. For my third try, I saw Dr. Belsley, who came highly recommended. His pleasant demeanor and professionalism were striking. That in combination with the other recommendations that I had been given on his behalf convinced me that he was the doctor for my third attempt at fixing this annoying and painful problem. He did the operation laparoscopically even though it had been done open the second time and I am in tip-top shape almost one year later. My recovery process was much easier that either of my two previous operations and Dr. Belsley was easily available whenever I had any questions. You hope not to need a surgeon, but when I or any of my friends and family do, we will see or ask for Dr. Belsley. Pros: Talented, Personable, Readily Available more
