I absolutely would not recommend Callison Veterinary Clinic. To make a very long story short, on June 14, 2012 i took my 7 month old AKC registered male German Shepherd there to have a cyst removed from his left rear ankle. When i returned at 10:00 am the following morning to pick him up, it was obvious he was in pain and he would not walk on his RIGHT rear leg. After a couple of days it was clear he had been seriously injured while at Callison Veterinary Clinic. So I called Dr. Sandra Callison and asked that he be examined by another veterinarian, who informed me his right femoral head had been fractured. After that, he was referred to Virginia Tech Veterinary Hospital where they performed surgery on his broken hip. That resulted in him regaining partial use of his right rear leg, but, sadly he has had to undergo two additional surgeries due to his condition worsening. He still suffers bouts of lameness in the right rear leg despite limiting his activity and taking every preventative measure possible. So far every veterinarian that has examined him since he was injured has told me that he will most likely require a total hip replacement.
As if all this wasn't enough, Dr. Sandra Callison has denied knowing how my dog was injured or that he was injured at all until he was removed from his cage at the time of discharge. But she could not deny the fact that he was injured while in her care. I would hate to see anyone else or their pet go through what we have due to going to the Callison Veterinary Clinic.
Take my advice, shop around and choose one of the established, reputable and well staffed veterinarians in the Lewisburg, WV area.
