Good Tex Mex 3/25/2006

The food at Dos Coyotes Border Cafe is good, and reasonably priced. The format is order at the front, and the food is brought to your table. A salsa bar provides a good selection of mild, medium, and hot salsas to go with your meal. The restaurant is relatively noisy, so if you're looking to have a conversation, beware! There is also a good sized patio for al fresco dining in warmer weather. An all-around good standby for tex mex food. more

Excellent Burritos and Salsas 9/22/2005

If you are in Davis and in mood for a quick Mexican bite--Come to the DC! Every time I go I am refreshed by the taste of DC's salsa and delighted by the friendly staffs. The service is top-notch and tip is not required (but welcomed). The burritos are fully stuffed with nature's goodies with a reasonable price tag. You can also watch the chefs cooking or sit in the well-designed dining room. Again, this place is fantastic! more

Great Mexican Food at a Great Price 9/16/2005

Dos Coyotes is a self serve restaurant, where you come in, order, and get your food. The items are well priced (well it should be since it's self served) and affordable on any student's budget. I especially like the Southwest burrito myself because it is a large burrito and very reasonable in price, and comes with meat! There is also a salsa bar, which you can scoop out your favorite salsa to accompany your burrito, or whatever you get. All meals come with chips, so the salsa really comes in handy with the chips because tortilla chips are plain without salsa. They have about 9 different kinds of salsas ranging from mild to hot in spiciness. I prefer the mild kinds because I cannot handle too much spice. The place is big and somewhat hard to find. It's located in a shopping mall complex, and to find it may require driving around in the lot. It's right next to a coffee shop, so you can always get coffee to accompany a nice Mexican burrito! more

Great Mexican food 8/22/2005

One of Davis' best restaurants. The menu is pretty large, and I have yet to have something that wasn't completely delicious. One of their best options is the shrimp burrito, but also check out their specials. Salads are light, but filling. This restaurant does fill up and finding a table can be tricky at times. more

The only southwestern food in davis 8/16/2005

Dos Coyotes Border Cafe ("Dos" for short) is the only real place to get a decent tex mex meal in Davis. Fortunately there are two equally good locations to choose from in this small town. Their nachos are top notch, and their food is very consistent. They also have a seasonal menu which has gems such as chicken quesadilla with mango and The Cubano, which is styled after the cuban ham sandwich. Overall a great place to share a meal with family and friends. more

the best tex mex in davis 8/16/2005

By far the best Mexican resturant in town. Try their tasty, filling burritos, I like the vegetarian version stuffed with beans, rice, cheese and all the fixings. The chips are hot and fresh. The location is a bit loud though, and the outside dining is basically in the parking lot. Better for takeout, and call ahead to avoid the wait. more
