If you are looking for the slick, corporate, air-conditioned glossy daycare solution for your perfect pet, this is not the daycare for you. But if you are looking for a personal, caring and very down-to-earth place, you may find your daycare here.
My 4 year old Border Collie has been going to Doglogic ever since she was a small puppy. This place is not fancy (it looks quite rough around the edges), but frankly I have never found a better daycare.
They are welcoming to some dogs whom other daycares might reject for some reason or other (non-neutered, for example). The reason for this is that the owner (Jamie Benton) is a long-time professional whose specialty has been to evaluate and rehab dogs who are problem cases in shelter and home settings. This means he has a high degree of understanding and expertise with dogs whom others reject as un-workable or problematic. This also means that his rules and boundaries for the dogs are extremely clear and reasoned, understood by all of them, but simple and with enough room for learning success for those who are not perfect. And always, with safety being a very serious high priority.
I attended their basic training and socialization classes multiple times with and without my dog and gotten a huge amount out of them. If you have any questions about what to read, study, watch or go to to learn about everything dog and how to care for/teach/train your dog or troubleshoot any behavior issue using positive methods, Jamie is the one to ask. He works with rescues of all kinds. He trains dogs and people for service in the community with non-judgemental style and loads of insight.
Having a border collie requires a huge commitment to take responsibility for a creature whose main desire is to work and learn at all times. Getting to know the folks at Doglogic has been a HUGE help to me, a growing experience for me and my dog. If you are open-minded and willing to look past snap appearances to learn from the best, I say give them a try.
